Supplements Must and Can Be Stopped

A counterattack

(Healingtalks) The National Health Federation has introduction legislation to counter the FDA’s infamous new Draft Guidance on New Dietary Ingredients (NDIs). That draft, if finalized, would destroy the natural supplement industry, which is Big Pharm and the FDA’s endgame plan. It would require require perfectly safe supplements to undergo needless and impossibly expensive testing or be removed from the market – which is the intent. On the other hand, synthetic vitamins, usually harmful, would be exempted because Big Pharma produces them for a profit.

Historical background

Since the passage of the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act of 1994 (DHSEA) consumers in the US have enjoyed excellent access to essential nutrients.  More recently, however, we have watched as the FDA nearly destroy that law with ever more onerous regulations. Now the FDA wants to go for the kill – to enforce impossible “safety” standards for supplements introduced after 1994 – to effectively outlaw them.

Dietary Supplement Protection Act (DSPA)

The counteracting bill is the brainchild of the National Health Federation and is being introduced by health-freedom advocate Rep. Dan Burton (R-IN). (For more information on Rep. This act amends DSHEA by moving forward the grandfathering date from 1994, thereby putting thousands of safe products immediately out of the NDI Draft Guidance‘s range. Thus the formulators and manufacturers of some 26,000 products added since 1994 can continue to remain on the market.

Putting this into perspective

In 1994 there were approximately 4,000 supplement products on the market. Now there are about 30,000. Thus an overwhelming majority or 87% of all our supplements might soon be removed from the marketplace by regulatory fiat.

Zero deaths

Scott Tips, president of the National Health Federation, asks, “Where are the dead bodies from these new ingredients? There are none. The FDA knows this …yet wants to push these safe supplements off the market… through expensive and useless regulations camouflaged as ‘protecting the public.’

Chief aim is to destroy a safe industry 

Essentially the FDA with Big Pharma’s support wants to destroy the safe and healing supplement industry because it competes with an industry that routinely cause over 100,000 deaths a year in the US alone, and when so-called “properly” prescribed. It causes over 200,000 deaths when we add the “correctly” and incorrectly prescribed drugs. 

Stop this evil effort

With the Dietary Supplement Protection Act we can turn the tide in the opposite direction.

(Healingtalks) The average consumer has a wildly idealized image of the modern MD, especially when wearing a pure white coat draped with a stethoscope – an image molded by media, as a caring, careful scientist – and best tending to the urgent needs of his or her patients. There is little talk about the routinely prescribed toxic drugs that just manage disease, fail to heal, and often maim and kill as a supposedly minor “side-effects.”

Modern medicine controlled by commercial interests

In reality, modern medicine is shaped lock-stock-and-barrel by commercial interests. MDs are educated to become the primary front men and women for Big Pharma, indoctrinated into its ideologies, and ever silenced as to what goes on behind the scenes.  If an extremely rare doctor tells all or stands out to become a whistle blower, he or she is soon threatened in a deliberate way by peer pressure (euphemistically called “peer review as if it was just something only healthy) or the underlying medical license is simply pulled. Almost nothing passes as accepted “scientific” medical practice unless it first goes through the filter of being minimally profitability. Green dollars are accepted therapy determinators and sometimes patient terminators!

Orphan Drugs and Therapies

This is most clearly evident with the phenomenon of “orphan therapies” – approaches that are effective natural therapies but treated in a manner similar to orphan drugs.

Story of Dr. Joel Furhman

Recently a prominent natural physician, Dr. Joel Fuhrman, was asked to write an article for the American Diabetes Association publication on his phenomenal natural, nutritional approach to reversing (not life-time profitably managing) diabetes. He submitted the article only to be told that they couldn’t publish anything like that unless it was significantly toned it down. The article spoke about reversing diabetes so that patients were entirely taken off of insulin. Yet entirely taken off, not reducing the insulin. Why couldn’t they published that to help millions, if not billions of sufferors? Because the lead funder of the diabetes publication was also a chief producer of insulin, Eli Lily.  Dr Furhrman, not be corrupted, withdrew the article and found other venues to bring out his message. Over the past few decades this has left us in the very brutal throws of ever growing chronic illness epidemics – such diabetes, cancer, arthritis, Alzheimer’s and so on – and that are treated very profitably but not reversed to undo threaten those profits. Evidence E.Coli Super-bug Spreading in Europe Was Bioengineered To Produce Human Fatalities

 (Healingtalks)  To move the public’s attention away from the dangers of pharmaceutical drugs (causing more annual fatalities than car accidents)…a straw man distraction is needed. Something else has to appear more dangerous in the public’s mind.

Not surprisingly, the very best of organic foods, namely sprouts and fresh fruits and vegetables , are so targeted to instill fear of eating in the public’s mind!

We see this time and again. We see it most recently with the engineered publicity around a strain of e.coli in Germany. The media is thus ripe of talk about the great dangers of this e.coli. But they are not talking about how it came to be. The fact is that it had to be lab created, and intentionally.

Here is the story.

Dangerous E.Coli Intentionally Man-Made To Harm?

If we become curious about the origins of such a highly pathogenic strain, then what clues can we find in our investigation? Well let’s play the game of an astute “Sherlock Homes” genetic detective.

The best  tool for this at our disposal is to reverse engineer the genetic code of this bacteria. With such a lab analysis, a fascinating picture comes to the light of day.

Genetic code history of this E-coli

Scientists at the Robert Koch Institute in Germany decoded the genetic makeup of the O104 e-coli strain and found it:

• Resistant to common antibiotics – Penicillins, tetracycline, nalidixic acid, trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazol, cephalosporins, amoxicillin / clavulanic acid, piperacillin-sulbactam and piperacillin-tazobactam.
• Able to produce enzymes called ESBLs – Extended-Spectrum Beta-Lactamase 0ESBLs) provide further resistance to cephalosporins (cefuroxime, cefotaxime and ceftazidime) which are the most widely used antibiotics in many hospitals.  (http://www.hpa.org.uk/Topics/Infect…).
•  Containing highly dangerous TEM-1 and CTX-M-15 genes - per The Guardian (http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentis…) .

Bioengineering a Lethal Superbug

Could a single bacteria become resistant to over a dozen major antibiotics in eight drug classes and with an added two gene mutations and the ability to produce ESBL enzymes?  Not likely at all in the wild. But there is a systematic way to lab produce the same e-coli artificially.  A laboratory can simply expose a strain of e-coli to a series of drugs, in a procedure that is highly precise.

You expose the strain first to penicillin, then take the few survivors and expose them to sulfa drugs. This creates unique penicillin/sulfa resistant e-coli strain. The next generation is then subjected to a third exposure (like tetracycline) and in order to create a tri-fold rare beyond rare resistance. This process can go on ad infinitum. The end results become ever more rare and progressively unlikely to occur in the wild. To take this to 8 steps and expect this to occur in nature by itself is virtually unthinkable.

The intelligent conclusion is that such genetic selection has to be lab engineered.

 This is similar to the intelligent conclusion that building #7, never hit by any jet, could only come down at free-fall speeds if it had been intentionally dynamited. Daahhh!

Bioweapons are similarly engineered, as hard as it is to imagine anyone could be so evil to do such a thing. [i]

Again the odds of this occurring naturally is virtually nil.

Mike Adams, the Health Ranger added that “if this bacteria originated in the food (as we’ve been told), then where did it acquire all this massive antibiotic resistance if antibiotics are not used in vegetables.”

It makes the odds less than nil. Or it defies any scientific logic or the laws of natural genetic permutation and combinations.

In short, this superbug e.coli strain was “man-u-factured” or humanly lab created, and then released.

Engineered E-coli Released For An Agenda. How Diabolically Brilliant!

Again it really makes countless more sense that this e.coli was lab engineered indeed and then released for a specific purpose.

What could such a purpose be?

Do you remember reading in the history books about how Göring and Goebbels, with Hitler’s approval, hatched a plan to cause panic throughout Germany by burning the Reichstag or parliament building and blaming the Communists? The purpose?  It was simple. This is what allowed the Nazis to take ruthless political control, to subvert a humane democracy in a cultured society and turn it into a ruthless dictatorship!

Here the super-fear creating threat or event appears likewise manufactured, and this is not even an isolated case. As such things are introduced into our food supply, it offers a means also of taking control over the global supply lines and even outlawing organic produce grown with animal manure – blamed such a natural source of this outbreak!

Not the First Time

We have seen this tactic now several times being fostered in recent years. See our articles on the listeria out break and the supposed threat of raw milk – likewise manufactured threats.

The FDA used a similar focus to further push the “Food Safety Modernization Act” which threatens to outlaw small family organic farms. The FDA was able to crush farm freedom and democracy by spreading vast fear of e.coli outbreaks. When people are afraid, they do irrational things. They accept a loss of rights or tyranny. Making people afraid is not difficult when you a small elite controls both political lobbying and the media.

Same ploy used in modern medicine

Make people fear invisible bacteria or viruses and they run to the doctor to get their antibiotic or vaccination shots. They do not focus on building up their immune system with fresh fruits, vegetables and natural supplements for immune support – but rather run to the doctor for drugs, surgery and raditation.

Via what is called CODEX, there is a concerted effort by the largest of pharmaceutical firms, Big Pharma, to require  impossible-to-meet testing so as to remove natural  herbs and nutritional supplements from shelves – especially the most effective. This process has already begun. Make no doubt about it. This thrust is being introduced incrementally, though  at ever greater speeds, and always with a scare tactic attached – so that the public is more fearful than rational. In the process, health freedoms are little by little stripped and taken away, as if unnoticed.

Helping the Sale of Processed Foods

If we become afraid of fresh, organic whole vegetables, what is the alternative. You got it. Processed, chemically polluted, bio-engineered dead foods and which better connect with economic gain and corporate control.  The fact that these same foods create degenerative diseases is actually a plus. We then have to run to the doctor to get our latest drug fix, selling thus more pharmaceuticals. How convenient!

So the overall ploy is to keep us sick by making us avoid what is healthiest of all, and then profit from the resulting suffering to offer us toxic foods and chemicals!

Example of Spain

This country was targeted in a recent e.coli scare besides Germany. Why ? Spain resisted the introduction of GMOs, even as the U.S. government threatened political consequences. This false blaming of Spain for so many e.coli deaths, devastating their agricultural sales in the process, was a form of ruthless political payback (http://www.naturalnews.com/030828_G…)

It’s what Mike Adams calls “one of the subplots being pursued alongside this e.coli superbug scheme.”

Adulterated Food as Weapons for Big Pharma

Who else but Big Pharma has access to all the antibiotics and equipment necessary to manage such rarer-than-rare mutations, requiring experiments with probably thousands if not tens of thousands of e.coli colonies? This needs a huge amount of financing and engineering. Only bio-weapons labs and drug companies are capable of such a monstrous ploy. and to also profit therefrom to justify the investment.

They have the means.

They have the motive.

They have the past history.

Doctoring and hiding negative scientific research has been the norm for Big Pharma, not the exception.

The proof that somebody certainly bioengineered this e.coli strain is written in the DNA of the bacteria as forensic evidence.

It cannot be denied. Its like genetic evidence in a rape case, and this is a kind of health-rape of the public.

This strain underwent prolonged exposure again to eight different classes of antibiotics, and then  managed to appear in the food supply among the healthiest of foods, namely sprouts. My God, what a coincidence!

There is really no such thing as “spontaneous mutation” into a strain that is resistant to ALL the major  eight humanly-created. best selling antibiotic drugs sold by Big Pharma.

Such mutations have to be deliberate, had to be engineered, had to be man-u-factured.  No buts about it. Otherwise it had to happen  accidentally! The odds are far past one in mega-trillions and that would  mean our world is so vastly antibiotic-contaminatedthat such such a strain could develop on its own to form a  natural superbug apocalypse. If that’s what people  dare to believe, go for it.

Imagine this virtually impossible scenario.

New  Ploy: Bioweapons in Our Food

Mike Adams here makes another observation. If we are facing a new era of global super-bug strains 9created to scare the living day-lights out of us because they can’t be treated with any majorly-known pharmaceutical) then let’s turn to colloidal silver and natural antibiotics (like garlic, ginger, onions, and medicinal herbs) and probiotics that are so much more effective.

But this is why the FDA and world health regulators simultaneously have tried to push out of business the producers of such remedies. He writes:

“They can’t have the public getting its hands on natural antibiotics that really work, you see. That would defeat the whole purpose of making everybody sick in the first place….They much prefer you to remain a helpless victim lying in the hospital, waiting to die, with no options available to you. (Healingtalks) The FDA’s plan is really part of a larger international push by the major Big Pharma conglomerates to wipe out competition by making it illegal, and under the umbrella of what is called the Codex Alimentarius Commission.

In the US this agenda has intentionally progressed by “small” steps not to create a revolt or storms of protest. The Natural Solutions Foundation has been a watchdog to monitor and gather resistance to those steps.

Steps Toward Food Tyranny

During 2007 the Natural Solutions Foundation warned the American public that Ted Kennedy’s last gift of power to the Federal bureaucracy, the so-called FDA Modernization Act of 2007 (what we call the FDA Enabling Act) would seriously threaten our Health and Food Freedom.

Although they fought hard to make sure language was kept in that bill “exempting” dietary supplements, the DSHEA Exemption, (and constituents sent over 150,000 emails in one weekend!), no one was holding out much hope that this massive increase in FDA power would not be used against the public’s freedom of choice… despite the fact the the law is clear and the statute had specific exemption language.

The language in the Act would let FDA ban interstate commerce in any FOOD that had ever been studied for medical use. That’s right.

Authority to Ban Any Food Was Immediately Used

Congress gave FDA a real authority to ban any food, and why?

Indeed, why would Congress believe it had power under Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution to control what food free Americans grow and use? We leave the answer to such questions to the philosophers and psychiatrists.

Dr. Ron Paul (R – TX) stated that giving FDA such authority is giving “FDA power to abuse…” Sure enough, the ink of President Bush’s signature was barely dry when FDA moved to ban the first supplement under the new law. At the behalf of a drug company (they called it a “citizen petition”) FDA banned a form of Vitamin B6 that has been continually available for decades. This form of B6 happens to be the most bioavailable, thus the drug company “studied” it and then decided NOT to market it, but rather seek govt help in banning it!

How did FDA “get around”the DSHEA Exemption? It announced that none of the vitamin companies and advocates objecting to the ban had “proven” that this particular form of B6 had been “sold to supplement the diet” prior to the “grandfathering” cut off date in 1994. The listing of this form of B6 in the “Old Dietary Ingredients” list posted on the FDA own website was not to be considered proof! We warned that the Vitamin B6 precedent would threaten all dietary supplement advances since ‘94.

Fast-forward to 2011

FDA announces a new guideline on New Dietary Ingredients which takes the B6 precedent and codifies this for all nutrients. Remember, FDA restricts what people can say about nutrients and then uses its new powers to ban those nutrients. This is a Freedom of Speech Issue. Here is what Life Extension says about this:

The FDA has just issued a proposed mandate that will enable the government to ban the most effective dietary supplements you are now taking. If this proposal is enacted, many fish oil formulas and natural plant extracts will be removed from the market until so-called safety testing is done.

The FDA wants each nutrient company to force-feed laboratory animals the human equivalent of up to 240,000 milligrams a day of certain fish oils. This outlandish dose will injure the test animals and give the FDA an excuse to outlaw the supplement. How can the FDA do this?

They are seeking to reclassify the natural supplements you now take as “food additives.”

This gives the FDA power to mandate outrageous safety thresholds that have no relationship to the scientifically validated doses of nutrients you take every day. Why are they doing this? Because these natural products work too well. This is similar to the reason why the FDA and other agencies seek to outlaw raw milk. Letting the public know that raw milk is a superior health product threatens the whole corporate dairy industry that depends on pasteurization to shelf-life survive.

Curcumin Example

Now let’s shift to the subject of curcumin, as an example.

It has been shown to inhibit a deadly transcription factor in cells called nuclear factor-kappa beta (NF-kB) that is responsible for immune system regulation. Over-expression of NF-kB is linked with tumor cells that resist normal cell growth and maturation, as well as inflammation.

Pharmaceutical companies want to own the exclusive rights to these kinds of plant extracts that are freely sold on the market today. They don’t want consumers to be able to obtain these biological benefits in low-cost supplements. Instead, they want to patent synthetic versions as high-priced prescription drugs! We know what the FDA wants… to stop us from making what they and their drug company friends think are “bad” decisions.

What is the law, however?

Here is what the Supreme Court said in Thompson v Western States (535 U.S. 357 – 2002):

“If the First Amendment means anything, it means that regulating speech must be a last – not first – resort. We have previously rejected the notion that the Government has an interest in preventing the dissemination of truthful commercial information in order to prevent members of the public from making bad decisions with the information… Even if the Government did argue that it had an interest in preventing misleading advertisements, this interest could be satisfied by the far less restrictive alternative of requiring each to be labeled with a warning that the [product] had not undergone FDA testing and that its risks were unknown.”

Once again, the FDA is abusing power Congress wrongfully granted to this oppressive agency!

Once again, our Health and Food Freedoms are under direct assault with the latest proposed mandate of the FDA.

Congress To Put Dietary Supplement Makers in Jail for 10 Years!

Pharmaceutical companies are once again interfering with your ability to access information about dietary supplements.

The Senate is debating a bill that will enable the FDA to put vitamin supplement makers in jail for ten years if they cite findings from peer-reviewed published scientific studies on the label of their dietary supplements or their web site.

The pretext for these draconian proposals is a bill titled the Food Safety Accountability Act (S. 3767). The ostensible purpose of the bill is to punish anyone who knowingly contaminates food for sale. Since there are already strong laws to punish anyone who commits this crime, this bill serves little purpose other than enriching pharmaceutical interests.

The sinister scheme behind this bill is to exploit the public’s concern about food safety. Drug companies want to convince your Senators that an overreaching law needs to be enacted to grant the FDA powers to define “food contamination” any way it chooses.

Even today, the FDA can proclaim a dietary supplement as “misbranded” even if the best science in the world is used to describe its biological effects in the body. The concern is that the FDA will use the term “misbranded” in the same way it defines “adulterated” in order to jail dietary supplement makers as if they were selling contaminated food.

The new bill being debated in the Senate increases the penalties the FDA can use to threaten supplement makers to ten years in prison. The big issue here is that the FDA will use this as a hammer to threaten and coerce small companies into signing crippling consent decrees that will deny consumers access to truthful non-misleading information about natural approaches to protect against age-related disease.
