Raw Buckwheat Pizza

…….Last weekend the theme at our local farmers’ market in Oneonta New York  was food-for-health. Some might not have noticed with all those belly-dancers there. But those who came to our table had a memorable event.

For  my friend Dana asked me to do a display of raw, living, local organic foods. Thus I brought my assortment of sprouts, micro-greens and something special - raw buckwheat pizza. The farmer’s market and the local Green Earth Health Food Store donated ingredients. The pizza was a big hit.

However, this was a new recipe for me and thus all the more fun to prepare at 2am the night before. Thank God I had help so that I could get to sleep at 4am. And all the effort was worth it!

In the past I had been used to making the pizza crust with either sprouted wheat berries or rye. Buckwheat is actually easier to sprout and is not a grain technically. It just tastes like a grain, is highly nutritious and is a relative of the rhubarb seed…and so this avoids confronting gluten or grain allergies.

The recipe is fairly simple though there are several steps to it and it takes time, but its worth it!

Preparing a Sprouted Buckwheat Pizza Crust

VEGETABLE IN SPICES – First we take on bunch of celery hearts, a cup of tomatoes, half an onion and some spices (a little basil, parsley, 2 cloves of garlic and a sweetener). For the latter and to keep things local, I used garlic, stevia, parsley and basil from our organic garden. All of these are put into a food processor.

SPROUTED BUCKWHEAT GROATS - Then we slowly add 5 1/2 cups of sprouted buckwheat. To make sprouted buckwheat soak the hulled groats for 8-10 hours. You can soak them in a bowl in the am and take them out to sprout in the pm, or visa versa. Then let them sprout for at least a day or two until the buckwheat develops its tails. It is then most alive and nutritious. We also make buckwheat groats that are chewing for breakfast by putting them in a dehydrator for a day and then adding some fruit and nut milk. We did that with the excess buckwheat that was left over after sorting out 5 1/2 cups for the pizza.

FLAXSEED MEAL - Lastly slowly add two cups of flaxseed meal which you can make in a coffee grinder. This gives the pizza crust its firmness.

If the consistency of this whole mix in the food processor is too wet then add more flaxseed. I have even added some whole, unground or whole flaxseed to give the crust more texture as well as nutrition.

PUTTING IT ALL IN THE DEHYDRATOR – We use a 14 inch square dehydrator instead of an oven to bake the pizza crust. This allows us to bake it no more than at 105 degrees which preserves the aliveness and super high nutrition of the ingredients. You can use olive-oiled hands or plastic gloves to put down the batter and so it does not stick to your hands but to the dehydrator trays instead. It takes 5-6 hours minimum time at 105 degrees for the crust to start hardening in the dehydrator.

Preparing the Nut Cheez

You can make a “nut Parmesan cheez” using a half pound each of ground brazil  nuts and walnuts. add 4 cloves of crushed garlic and some salt and italian seasoning. Paprika or cayenne pepper is optional to give it color and a hot flavor. You can also make a more soupy white nut  cheez by mixing 2 cups of cashew or macademia nuts with a little onion, lemon juice and salt. Blend it all together and put it into a plastic bag. Then cut the corner with a small opening so you can squeeze out the nut cheeze to form any pattern you like on the pizza

Raw Pizza Tomato Sauce

A great tomato sauce will end up being sweat. So here is how it is done. Slice up 3 cups of roma tomatoes. Add  1 1/2 cups of raisins or your favorite dried fruit (substitute stevia if you are sensitive to the sugar content). The spice it further up with the juice of a whole lemon, a pinch of Himalayan salt, some Italian seasoning, including basil and a clove of garlic – and voila you have a dynamite sauce.

Toppings

Last we prepare the toppings and here you can let your creativity go wild. We used sliced tomatoes, some garden parsley, a couple of mushrooms, sliced zucchini and peppers from a local farm, and garnished the whole pizza with edible flowers from our own garden.

Another idea I like is to do an eggplant or essentially olive and mushroom toppings. Remember to let your creativity go wild, including with the use of wild, local herbs.

Putting It All Together

Here are the steps I recommend

  1. Put on your tomato sauce.
  2. Add some thin slices of tomatoes.
  3. Next put on your additional toppings
  4. Then add the one or two kinds of nut cheezes
  5. Lastly add your garnishing to the plate

There you have it.

As food and fuel costs continue to rise while concerns about conventionally grown produce increase, micro-gardening has become a hot trend among urbanites. Using an array of creative measures, these organic miniature gardens not only provide nutrient dense, locally grown food, but also create a feeling of connectedness and well-being.

Levels of trace minerals in conventional fruits and vegetables have been in steady decline since 1940. As most produce travels an average of 1,500 miles from farm to plate, these fragile nutrients are depleted even further. Fresh, local, organic produce is a welcome alternative and demonstrates a higher quantity of 21 key-nutrients including vitamin C, calcium, magnesium, iron, phosphorous, and chromium.

In PBS “Food Miles” episode 3, writer Michael Shuman states, “investing in local food systems lessens the distance between who we are and what we eat, and creates wealth in the community.”

Shuman continues in an article for the Huffington Post:

“A study done two years ago found that a 20% shift of retail food spending in Detroit redirected to locally grown foods would create 5,000 jobs and increase local output by half a billion dollars.”

By growing your own produce, even in a micro-garden setting, additional food costs can be defrayed, creating financial benefit. Saving seeds after harvest from organic heirloom varieties as well as reusing clam shell or salad containers for planting creates additional environmental and economic advantage.

A shining example of a thinking out-of-the box solution to our world food problems is the Truck Farm in Brooklyn, NY. As necessity is the mother of invention, Ian Cheney, along with Curt Ellis, created a vegetable garden in the 5′ x 8′ bed of his grandfather’s pickup truck after moving to New York and realizing there wasn’t a space to grow food. Utilizing green roof technology to allow for proper drainage and to hold the soil in place, Truck Farm was born. As the harvest and neighborhood popularity of the Truck Farm grew, Ian and Curtis started a CSA program.

Ian explains during an interview with PlanetGreen.com:

“In principle, the CSA works like this: members give twenty bucks at the beginning of the spring, and then every month they get a little bag of greens, herbs, and vegetables delivered to their doorstep. In reality, most of the subscribers live in my neighborhood so I encourage them to just clip a few greens or pluck a few tomatoes on their way home from work. Saves gas!”

One of the main challenges for the Truck Farm is getting enough water for the plants because the lightweight soil drains easily. The solution created another link of community. “We drive up to an Italian restaurant in my neighborhood, hook up a hose to their spigot, hand over a little basil, and water away. Sometimes Fulvio, the owner, gives me a glass of wine with a flourish: ‘Water for the farm, wine for the farmer!’”

Gardening can create happiness too. In a study at the University of Texas, 400 participants responded to a survey concerning their life satisfaction. Respondents who were gardeners answered positively 20% more of the time to statements about energy level, optimism, zest for life, and physical self-concept than non-gardeners.

So dig in. A creative micro-garden can help prune food costs, nurture health and foster joy and prosperity, while sowing the seeds of connection.

Broccoli May Help Boost Aging Immune System

We all know that broccoli is healthy to eat. But the further idea that broccoli, collard, cabbage and kale  sprouts might have up to 50x more of an important anti-cancer fighting ingredient found in those veggies  is mind-boggling. But it is a fact.

There is now available even a patented brand of broccoli sprouts called “brocco sprouts” based on a consistent amount of anti-oxidants being maintained. This was developed by John Hopkins University.

ScienceDaily (Mar. 10, 2008) — Eat your broccoli! That’s the advice from UCLA researchers who have found that a chemical in broccoli and other cruciferous vegetables may hold a key to restoring the body’s immunity, which declines as we age.

Published in the online edition of the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, the study findings show that sulforaphane, a chemical in broccoli, switches on a set of antioxidant genes and enzymes in specific immune cells, which then combat the injurious effects of molecules known as free radicals that can damage cells and lead to disease.

Free radicals are byproducts of normal body processes, such as the metabolic conversion of food into energy, and can also enter the body through small particles present in polluted air. A supercharged form of oxygen, these molecules can cause oxidative tissue damage, leading to disease — for example, triggering the inflammation process that causes clogged arteries. Oxidative damage to body tissues and organs is thought to be one of the major causes of aging.

“The mysteries of aging have always intrigued man,” said Dr. Andre Nel, the study’s principal investigator and chief of nanomedicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. “While we have known for some time that free radicals are important in aging, most of the past attention has focused on the mechanisms that produce free radicals rather than addressing the pathways used by the body to suppress their production.”

A dynamic equilibrium exists in the body between the mechanisms that lead to increased free radical production and those antioxidant pathways that help combat free radicals.

“Our study contributes to the growing understanding of the importance of these antioxidant defense pathways that the body uses to fight free radicals,” said Nel, a practicing clinical allergist and immunologist at the Geffen School. “Insight into these processes points to ways in which we may be able to alleviate the effects of aging.”

The delicate balance between pro-oxidant and antioxidant forces in the body could determine the outcome of many disease processes that are associated with aging, including cardiovascular disease, degenerative joint diseases and diabetes, as well as the decline in efficiency of the immune system’s ability to protect against infectious agents.

“As we age, the ability of the immune system to fight disease and infections and protect against cancer wears down as a result of the impact of oxygen radicals on the immune system,” Nel said.

According to the UCLA study, the ability of aged tissues to reinvigorate their antioxidant defense can play an important role in reversing much of the negative impact of free radicals on the immune system. However, until this current study, the extent to which antioxidant defense can impact the aging process in the immune system was not properly understood.

“Our defense against oxidative stress damage may determine at what rate we age, how it will manifest and how to interfere in those processes,” Nel said. “In particular, our study shows that a chemical present in broccoli is capable of stimulating a wide range of antioxidant defense pathways and may be able to interfere with the age-related decline in immune function.”

The UCLA team not only found that the direct administration of sulforaphane in broccoli reversed the decline in cellular immune function in old mice, but they witnessed similar results when they took individual immune cells from old mice, treated those cells with the chemical outside the body and then placed the treated cells back into a recipient animal.

In particular, the scientists discovered that dendritic cells, which introduce infectious agents and foreign substances to the immune system, were particularly effective in restoring immune function in aged animals when treated with sulforaphane.

“We found that treating older mice with sulforaphane increased the immune response to the level of younger mice,” said Hyon-Jeen Kim, first author and research scientist at the Geffen School.

To investigate how the chemical in broccoli increased the immune system’s response, the UCLA group confirmed that sulforaphane interacts with a protein called Nrf2, which serves as a master regulator of the body’s overall antioxidant response and is capable of switching on hundreds of antioxidant and rejuvenating genes and enzymes.

Nel said that the chemistry leading to activation of this gene-regulation pathway could be a platform for drug discovery and vaccine development to boost the decline of immune function in elderly people.

“This is a radical new way of thinking in how to increase the immune function of elderly people to possibly protect against viral infections and cancer,” Nel said. “We may have uncovered a new mechanism by which to boost vaccine responses by using a nutrient chemical to impact oxidant stress pathways in the immune system.”

Kim said that although there is a decline in Nrf2 activity with aging, this pathway remains accessible to chemicals like sulforaphane that are capable of restoring some of the ravages of aging by boosting antioxidant pathways.

The next step is further study to see how these findings would translate to humans. “Dietary antioxidants have been shown to have important effects on immune function, and with further study, we may be adding broccoli and other cruciferous vegetables to that list,” Nel said.

For now, Nel suggests including these vegetables as part of a healthy diet. Nel said that these findings offer a window into how the immune system ages. “We may find that combating free radicals is only part of the answer. It may prove to be a more multifaceted process and interplay between pro- and antioxidant forces,” he said.

The study was funded by the National Institute on Aging, the UCLA Claude D. Pepper Older Adults Independence Center, and the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.

MY EATING PHILOSOPHY: This philosophy is intended to be as simple as possible as well as intuitive rather than logical.

A  too complicated, pre-determined or rigid and controlled way of eating can and will become unhealthy in and or itself –

despite better intentions.

Unless one is fighting a serious illness or life and death challenge, I prefer to follow a soft, sensitive, gentle and aware of the moment set of principles rather than hard, rough and fast rules. In everyday life we have to also enjoy our food and not just eat solely for an obsession with health. A little leeway thus helps. Also when changing a diet, a rigid approach is far harder to follow innately, and a person is more likely to succeed only in the short run and then fall off the bandwagon thereafter.

For myself I eat mostly all raw and living foods to get an edge in life and pretty close to 100% at home.  Might I indulge in a glass of wine or a sample this or that occassionally. Every once in a while, though rarely and as an escape hatch. I try to have a balance between vegetables and fruits, and in order to elicit life and consciousness  not the conventional targets of “fuel, calories, and  proteins for muscles – as if our body worked like a car, a machine, made up engine-fired metal, hard, rigid parts.

We are living conscious organisms!

As with Lao Tzu and his wisdom, my view of our own bodies is derivative of a much larger alternative view of the 17th century cosmic vision of  a dead/mechanical, tick-tock, universe following the dictates of  the symbols of mathematics. To me it is a dead paradigm full of black holes, which when modern science finds them, it approaches them with vast denial and resistance. A runner may go around a track exactly following all of Newton’s laws of motion. Then his cell phone rings with a call from his or her lover, and the runner turns around, violating all of Newton’s laws. Thus also, and for example, when math-designed chemicals are found to cause cancer, there is intense and belligerent denial that our underlying paradigms are at fault. Chemistry is supposed to create better not worse living. So do we guide cancer patients onto an opposite path, no. We give them yet more drugs and more chemical injections (chemotherapy) on the promise of a cure.

These very same chemicals, of course, that cause cancer. All of this is part of a deep cultural process of paradigm denial – with much at stake, our core worldview – but which eventually must give way to real truths.

Thinking along these lines, for decades now I have consistently veered away from the conventional, crude and deeply unwise, and taproot math-based vision of nature that misguides modern life. This is applied to nature most intimately for us in the healing arts – including for the understanding of nutrition. The common view is therefore that foods are just nothing more than carbohydrates, fats and proteins – all math-defined to the T. They fit again the bankrupt mechanical view of nature.

For me life does not work that way, which is actually obvious. Because I defend and argue for a life-centered vision of nature, it is much more important that foods be living, rather than dead – which is generally accomplished by cooking. Cut living things apart and they die. Thus also highly milled, oxidized, processed foods tend to be dead and decaying.  Why is that so? Because consciousness, at the core of life, is as I have said a thousand and one times – “the universal relationship of connection itself in nature.” So cut foods apart and guess what, the inner consciousness and life leaves.  If we don’t feed ourselves with life forces, we ourselves go a long a path of aging, becoming less conscious and dying. With that in mind here is some simple advice:

AGAIN AVOID RIGIDITY: Machine parts are rigid and the principles that organize the nature of a machine are opposite to those of life. Rigidity is thus anathema to life. Being too rigid even about eating the best of foods, raw and living, is in a sense anti-life.

Listen to your body and its feedback to you, rather than having just one way of eating or one narrow kind of meal plan.

LOVE IT, MAKE IT A JOY – Love what you eat rather than eat because you must. Put different and not overly hot spices in to make it sumptuous and wonderful for the palate and beautiful for the eye. Turn on some soothing, calming music with your meal.

TIMES OF MEALS: I think of myself as eating a couple of meals a day, when stirred to, and then snacking for the rest of the time to keep up my energy and blood sugar up and about even. I nibble a little here and there. I satisfy my buds and urgings.

SIMPLE MEALS  AND SNACKS: If there are too many, large-portioned ingredients in a meal, the bodies digestive enzymes get confused. Healing is a bringing to oneness, so an inordinate amount of complexity does not help the healing processes. If you mix a grain meal with fruits, there is a tendency to ferment. If you eat two heavy proteins at a meal, neither may digest well. If you drink too much fluid with a meal, your digestive enzymes may be diluted. You know you’ve done something not just right if a meal gives gas.

KITCHEN TOOLS – Use greatest kitchen tools of the trade, the best juicers, blenders, dehydrators and the like to make meals easy to prepare.

ROTATIONS AND VARIETY: Foods sometimes have natural inhibitors and lower energy organisms embedded – like bacteria and fungus. Our bodies, with a healthy immune system, can usually handle these if given an opportunity to wage one battle at a time. This applies especially to fruits because of the high sugar content that easily feeds lower life forms. Thus I snack often on simple fruits and rotate them from day to day to avoid infections and allergic reactions. I also cut up the fruits into small pieces and often put them into the dehydrator to nibble a little at a time.

RAW, ORGANIC, WHOLE, ALKALINE, NUTRIENT-DENSE, VEGAN LIVING, LOCAL, IN-SEASON: My preference is for foods that are local, organic, whole, living (sprouted or soaked), more alkaline and in season. I avoid animal products except occasionally honey. Some like fish-oil for health but this involves more violence to nature if the fish are killed in the process. I am not totally rigid on this or anything else, but follow such guidelines as a preponderance. See my many blogs on the benefits of a vegan diet. The China Study was conclusive, gathering data from millions of Chinese, and supported by animal studies, all pointing out an eventual harm of an even minor flesh-based diet. For a chart of the most nutrient-dense foods, see the work of Dr. Joel Fuhrman. Avoid processed, milled, irradiated, chemicalized and otherwise made unwhole foods.

VEGETABLES & FRUITS, PLUS: Fruits and veggies  form the foundation of my diet – and in various forms – salads, blends, juices, dried concoctions, sauces and so on. Next comes some spices in moderation and a bit of nuts, seeds, and legumes – and not too much of the latter because they are quite heavy or concentrated, as well as relatively acid foods that certainly need to be broken down to enter our fluid bloodstream. The life force within us is more simple, diffuse, flowing and full of light.

HYDRATION: Life travels in our fluids and thus is extracted best from water-rich fruits and vegetables and via their juices. Sometimes I drink them straight and at other times diluted and with spices and/or super-food powders. In the winter I especially like to add something warmer or hot, hot spices and hot water poured over raw ingredients, especially seaweed and veggies in soups.

CLEANSING: This is the last element of my diet. It is an allowing of time for not eating or juicing or drinking water instead. This is especially important before bedtimes as the most cleansing and healing tends to occur during sleep. On a cleansing day I will probably add an enema and some saunas – plus extra sleep. Keep in mind, however, that a lot of fluids just before going to sleep can prevent the kidneys from getting adequate rest during sleep. So try to drink cleansing fluids an hour or two before going to sleep.

Those are some of my most basic guiding principles. All the rest seems to fall into line.

Many of  you have heard about the incredible benefits of the food vegan diet.

There is ample data to support that.

ADVENTIST STUDY OF THE VEG/VEGAN DIET
There have been two major studies (a third is in progress) of the lifestyles of Seventh Day Adventists in California. By not smoking or consuming excess alcohol, eating a plant-based diet, eating nuts several times a week, engaging in regular exercise and keeping a trim weight, the average Adventist men lived 6 to 7 years longer and women 4 years longer.  Those most closing following this lifestyle lived even longer, up to 10 years on average. They also had greater quality of life as measured by their having less chronic illnesses. Compared to other Californians,  breast cancer rates, for example, were 85% lower and coronary heart disease rates 66% lower for men and 98% for women! Positive lifestyle factors were tracked including eating a plant-based diet (with legumes, nuts, tomatoes, and whole meal bread) along with 5 or more glasses of water.

Increasing the eating of red and white meat correlated, as with The China Study, a corresponding rise in cancer incidences.

Of note, the Seventh Day Adventist study showed that vegans outlived vegetarians. They especially had less cardiovascular diseases given their lower body weight. The average Adventist vegetarian weighed about 16 lbs less and the vegans 32 lbs less. The eating of nuts substituted for the eating of fish and fish oils to gather Omega-3 fats and proteins.

WHOLE-FOOD VEGAN vs. JUNK-FOOD VEGAN
In regard to the vegan diet, it was not so much emphasized is that one can be vegan and still eat largely junk food! Ultimately a major step is to shift the diet to whole plant-based foods rather than foods that are highly processed. Otherwise the most highly-processed sugar, flour and oils remain “vegan” and supposedly healthy.

STUDIES OF THE RAW FOOD VEGAN DIET
There a numerous studies available that touch on the raw vegan diet. However, there are several essential problems with most of these studies.

First most are too recent to evaluate the raw-food diet’s impact on longevity and long-term health. This is because the introduction of the raw-food lifestyle largely began in the 1960′s and 1970′s and only recently caught the attention of a significant population group in the past decade.

Secondly,  innovative diet centers such as the Hippocrates Institute (which claims to have helped more people to  reverse chronic diseases thereby) rarely publish studies. This may be partly for defensive political reasons. For example, Brian Clement, the director of the Hippocrates Institute, has yet to publish his landmark study made decades ago that compares a 75-80% raw to a 100% raw-food diet.

Thirdly, and most importantly, the few studies that are extant tend to be classically reductionist.  They analyze this or that very minute, narrowly focused chemical marker and in the classical style of the mechanical (death-ridden) view of nature. It is virtually anti-holistic. Thus many of these studies are largely worthless. Examples can be found at the anti-vegetarian beyondveg.com site.

Studying the most minute lab details – quite perfectly measured to myopically call a study “scientific” – and rather than gathering a whole (true objective) view of things, there’s  no real means to fathom why raw food diets represents such a significant breakthrough.

There are, however, some notable exceptions.

Tree of Life in Patagonia, Arizona, author of many books and articles

about and around optimal health, holistic nutrition, and diabetes. Dr.

Gabriel Cousens, it’s an honor to have you aboard.

Hi everyone, this is Kevin Gianni, Optimal Health Expert, and I’d like to

I’m very pleased to be with you.

Kevin:

in the life of raw…I’m sure it’s very few. Let’s just start by giving a brief

explanation of what the Tree of Life is and what you’ve done.

Good, so let’s start just for those people who might not know who you are

Gabriel:

down out of the nothing, this most amazing thing happen. There’s a voice

rang out and said, “You should learn to eat and live in a way that supports

the unfolding of the Kundalini energy.” At that time, I was basically

vegetarian meaning having dairy and very quickly became a vegan. And

over the next, those five or six years began to explore what’s the best diet

for spiritual life and it got clear working with thousands of people here,

India, and so forth, here being in the US that the best diet, the most

activating diet for spiritual life was 100% live-food diet. We got into it.

Then, what we saw was and then became 100% live foods in 1983.

Then, I noticed that just telling people about it didn’t quite do the job and

so we created in 1993, the Tree of Life Rejuvenation Center in Patagonia,

Arizona. We’re on 174 acres. We have the 260 degree view of the

horizon. We’re on the a mesa and it’s an integration of the spiritual life

with the live food as one of the six foundations for enhancing spiritual life

and feeding the Kundalini energy. What’s Kundalini energy? The

nondual, holographic experience of our oneness, of I am that. It’s

awakened by shaktipat, which is the descent of grace that awakens it and

what is interesting is when people…here we do spiritual fasting as well as

spiritual detox – as well as fasting detox programs. We have sacred

relationship courses. We have a conscious eating course. We have a

course which is a kind of form of Western Jnana Yoga called The Zero

Point. We do a lot of Essene Training; we have a Priesthood Training

Program which their foundation was live foods and many other programs.

Those are the main things that David Wolfe and myself do a very special

retreat on July 4th where we…just David and I, plus we have all kinds of

entertainment, but we do questions and answers primarily to help people

it’s really a lot of fun.

So, we do a lot of work that way. But the Tree of Life is designed to help

people transition from the culture of death into the culture of life. Now

what is that? That’s the essence of the whole thing. See the culture of

death is living in separation from our own soul, from the living planet and

from the people around us. It’s the belief of better looking chemistry,

pharmaceuticals, pesticide, and herbicide soil. It’s when where we are

really disconnected from our own self and the living planet.

The culture of life is about living organically, feeling your oneness with the

living planet with all beings, being really moved by love, live by liberation,

live by love, and it’s also obviously include living foods as part of it. And it

is about creating and living in that sense of unity and beauty and a real

deep connection on the so level with yourself and all people with very

different paradigms. The culture of life has to do with better living through

better living, culture of death has been living through chemistry and – it of

course doesn’t work. And symptoms of culture of death are chronic

disease, misery, depression, anxiety, and separation from life in general.

Diabetes which is we’re doing a lot of work right now is a beautiful

example of a symptom of the culture of death. Its pandemic, what’s the

result? What do you get from, you know the culture of death? You get a

meat-centered diet and you get a high sugar, high junk food diet, lots of

pesticides and herbicides, you get an economy that’s not about health

and well-being for the planet, but about the wealth for a few versus the ill

health for the many.

So, all these things are part of what’s going on. When you kind of get it

you see the whole picture, so what causes diabetes? Dr. Cleve out of

England, he was head of the British Navy, the medical aspect of it,

studied all different cultures and he found that 20 years after white sugar

was introduced, he had outbreak diabetes.

Other research, in addition, has shown that cooked animal flesh and fat

significantly contributes to diabetes and then we also have trans fatty

acids and we have pesticides and herbicides, and also heavy metal

toxicity are kind of the main issues that they result in your obesity, 90% of

diabetics – type 2 diabetics are obese for example.

So, that lifestyle that comes out of that, of the junk food, the white sugar,

the white flour which is filled with relaxin which is actually something that

actually destroys the beta cells in the pancreas, all contribute to diabetes

which is really a pandemic over 240 million people in the world have

diabetes and about 3 million people a year die from it, that way more than

the AIDS population. It’s an understanding and the projections are even

more amazing and that in some parts of the world, they expect 100%

increased in the next 10 years like in Central America.

And New York City, for example, actually has the highest rate of diabetes

in the country. In the last 10 years, its rate of diabetes increased to

140%. In the country in general, 80%, well that’s significant and what

we’re seeing in New York City is that it’s related to the junk food and poor

lifestyle, but also there is a class and a race part of it.

Generally speaking, Latinos have twice as much diabetes as Caucasians

and slightly though less than twice in the rate of Native Americans and

Afro Americans and slightly more than twice are Asians, you know in

terms of genetic tendencies.


Kevin:

Okay.

Gabriel:

anywhere in the world than, excuse me, India has more diabetics

anywhere in the world, China is second, US is third. Now, what’s the

point? The point is we are able to reverse diabetes. We’ve developed a

program here at the Tree of Life where we’re able to really released type

2 diabetes in a very short time. In one to four days, most people are off

their medications and even if their blood sugar was unmanaged like the

normal is about 85 and these people are running 300, 350 of blood

sugars on medications and just a very short time, they’re dropping to 150,

120 and off all medications insulin and so forth in one to four days. We’ve

seen people completely reversed in 2 weeks.

Now, let’s qualify what we need. We can drop it with our program, the 21

day program. We fast for a week on green juices. We do – we have

certain supplements but the real test is sustaining it over at least six

months before we consider somebody is healed. So, we reversed the

physiology, okay we can do that, but are you able to sustain it and that is

where we go really into the culture of life versus death because people go

back in the world and say, “Well, you know what’s wrong with little meat?

My friends are having meat like can I have some meat? Why not a little

sugar? And it’s hard.”

So, what we’ve done now in order to make the program successful is set

up monthly kind of gatherings all around the country and Alive with

Gabriel which is a way of tuning in where we do spiritual questions and

answers and nutritional questions as support because the shadow of the

culture of death is very, very powerful and so the struggle is can people

make the transition from the culture of death into the culture of life and

that’s really the essence. Live food is about the culture of life. That’s the

beauty of it. Now, what also makes our program work is that we…it’s a

100% live foods to get started and what that does is that stimulates the

anti-aging, anti-diabetes, anti-oxidant, and anti-inflammatory genes

literally and when we do all live, we get a very powerful boost into the

reversing of diabetes because diabetes is a downgrading of our genetic

expression. Let me explain what that means. You have the genotype

and you have a phenotype. Genotype is what we call your hard drive in

the computer.

the phenotype is your actual expression. If you live a live-food lifestyle,

you will not express diabetes. You will keep a genotype – a phenotype

that’s really healthy. And so what we do with the live-food diet is the

foundation of basically turning on the healthy phenotype and turning off

the diabetes phenotype, genetic expression. Now that’s the key to the

program. That’s why it works.

phenotype is turned on and then you turn it off using live foods and then

someone goes back to the culture of death as you were talking about. Is

it more readily turned on again?

: And once it’s turned on so let’s say someone comes to you and theGabriel

: Yes because the body has some familiarity.Kevin

: You can keep bringing it back. I mean, the body does not like to beKevin

: Right. You talked about Six Foundations. You know living foods is one ofGabriel

spiritual fast where we’re meditating twice a day, we’re doing a – where

we Kali Ray Tri yoga which is a very high prana, yoga that supports the

Kundalini. Okay…

: Living foods and spiritual fasting is one especially in a certain way is theKevin

: Um hum.Gabriel

foundation is building prana in general…

: Once we get past the spiritual fasting and the live food, the secondKevin:

Um hum.Gabriel:

includes pranayama, breathing exercises. It maybe T’ai Chi, Qi Gong,

sacred dance, all of them are great. They all build the prana. Third is

service and charity because when you’re in service, you feel a heart

connection to the world.

…and that includes like all yogas, but we like the Kali Ray Tri yoga and itKevin:

Okay.Gabriel:

a specific group whatever. Reading the great scriptures and be inspired

by them. There is a course I teach called the Zero Point which is the

Western Jnana Yoga, the yoga of the mind which is very important. And

then also being in nature can be very important. Those are all really

good. Next is silence, meditation, prayer, mantra repetition, and chanting

Gabriel here was empowered by his teacher, one of the – he had two

teachers had meaning they both have left their bodies. So I looked at it

and it empowered me to awaken the Kundalini. So you do all those

things and those are the Six Foundations that nourish the unfolding of the

Kundalini when it ultimately takes into merging in the crown and chakra

and you experience the oneness that we were meant to be.

purpose of that?

: When you talk about building prana, what do you ultimately think is theGabriel

Six Foundations I’m going to answer your question a little bit of sideways,

okay?

: Well from my point of view, in my book Spiritual Nutrition, we look at theKevin:

Great.Gabriel:

They are a lifestyle to be lead. Okay? You are not going anywhere. You

are just living a lifestyle that brings…that quiets the mind and builds the

vessels to hold the increased prana or energy. Okay?

The Six Foundations have two purposes. They are not spiritual practices.Kevin:

Okay.Gabriel:

do? Prana moves the Kundalini to the system. It builds the life, the

spiritual life force energy and in that way eventually purifies the whole

system, that’s why we’re building the prana, and then eventually when it

is purified it merges in the sahasrara chakra. Now that’s the idea. Think

about it this way, when you start the Kundalini oasis, the fire under the

log. It smokes, it sputters, you know it smells.

So, now as we build those vessels to hold the prana, what does pranaKevin:

Uh hum.Gabriel:

the fire, right?

But eventually the fire is going and you keep burning and putting wind onKevin:

Yes.Gabriel:

eventually that log, which was impure so forth and so on become sacred

ash and then the prana or wind comes and blows it away and all is left is

pure being. That’s how the prana works.

The wind is prana. It keeps the fire going which is the Kundalini andKevin:

living food?

Got you. When…so you’re saying it’s just not enough to cleanse with justGabriel:

It’s enough to do it if that’s how you want in your life.Kevin:

to merge with God. Well it just depends on what you want. Many people

in the live food or in life, it’s enough. Hey look, I can feel healthy, I got

more energy, I got more sexual energy, I can do more things, and that’s

enough for them. What Gabriel has brought into the live-food movement

is let’s extend this a little bit to the purpose of life which is to know God. If

you are interested, this is what we are doing and what we’ve done with

the book’s conscious eating, spiritual nutrition, Rainbow Green Live Food

Cuisine has looked at all the let’s say potholes on the road so that

everybody will be successful on 80% to 100% live foods. That is basically

what we are saying.

But at this point of life, from Gabriel’s point of view here is to know God, isKevin:

Uh hum. What happens when you know God?Gabriel:

Say it again, when you know God?Kevin:

Yes. What happens?Gabriel:

no “you” left.

You heard me talking in the third person. When you know God, there isKevin:

Okay.Gabriel:

complex disappears and you will understand you’re a central nature

which is that.

There is only that and so you are what we call the body, mind, I amKevin:

Okay.Gabriel:

And there is no you, there’s no I there.Kevin:

So…Gabriel:

the world changes and you feel the essential unity of who you are, the

essential love of who we are, and you feel what we call non-causal love.

You become a third person in the sense and you’re whole perception ofKevin:

Okay.Gabriel:

contentment and that’s nothing. It’s not a yoga practice. It is just

something that happens. It’s also your natural emotions and it’s a deep

feeling of peace that goes on and you that deep unity awareness. That’s

what happens.

And the reason non-causal peace, non-causal joy, and non-causalKevin:

And…and…Gabriel:

Roughly speaking, more than that happens.Kevin:

most people don’t have that experience?

Okay.Gabriel:

balanced in your everyday life. You are not getting stuck on all the small

things of life and you have more energy and clarity to be able to deal with

the endless complications of being a human being in our complex, terrorridden

society. So you function better. You have more joy. You’re more

turned on to life. It’s like you are experiencing life as the expression of

the Divine and all life becomes a Divine service or sacrifice into the

Divine. Well it’s a very turn on way to live. It’s very true. It’s basically a

complete, ongoing, concrete experience. We are not talking just

sexuality. We are talking about the whole world being the arrows of the

Divine radiating right in your, you know radiating and you are just

radiating with it. It’s a very different way to live.

Why? Because when you know the deep truth, you are much moreKevin

through it? I mean there must be – there’s obviously a spiritual practice

through how you go through the day. Can you explain them?

: How do you go about your day? How do you start and then moveGabriel

difference is that you’re experience of the day is different.

: Really good. You go through the day just like everybody else. The onlyKevin

: Okay.Gabriel

wonder med. Its like, “Oh my goodness, this is what’s going on, isn’t this

beautiful?” And you are feeling the love, and even when you’re really,

really busy you’re still feeling it on the inside. There’s like, for Gabriel it’s

like a hollow space that’s at the core which where the nothing resides and

out of the nothing comes that love and compassion and its like “Whoa!

This is really deep.” You know like life is like a, “Oh my goodness! This is

incredible.” So you go through the day very turned on.

: It’s like the Divine unfolded in front of you all the time. It’s like it is aKevin

everyday things that have to go on, you still do them yes?

: Wow and as you’re doing those things, things like stress and things likeGabriel

external stress is magnified because you’re in that inner bliss and you’re

not spaced out. I mean Gabriel here is writing books, giving talks, doing

interviews like this, running to the center as an active physician or holistic

physician. All these things are going on. A grandfather, you know? Time

to do, you know still doing whatever, jumping in the chaplain, doing your

yoga, and everything is a turn on. But you are able to actually do more

because you are so turned on.

: Well I mean you can actually handle more. Your capacity to handle theKevin

of knowing God, what is the mission now? What’s like – is there a drive

or no?

you’re never going anywhere.

: Very interesting question. If you…like you understand immediately thatKevin

: Okay.Gabriel

“Vanity of vanities, everything under the sun is for naught, all that counts

is to know God.” Now when you get that that’s what’s going on, then

everything becomes a celebration of the divine and everything becomes

an essence, a sacrifice, and an offering into the divine.

: Okay. It’s like as King Salmon said in his book, you know in his writings,Kevin

: Okay.Gabriel

matter.

: Alright. So that’s the turn on, you see? So whatever your doing doesn’tKevin

: Wow!Gabriel

: You’ve got to keep that in mind, it doesn’t matter.Kevin

: Wow!Gabriel

: Now here’s the tip. It is really weird okay?Kevin

: Yes.Gabriel

more aligned with the will of God and so you are in service and so you’re

guided.

: But at the same time, you know usually at that level, you know you areKevin

: Okay.Gabriel

vision. There’s nothing of you in there anymore. And so you’re just in

service so you can work, you know sometimes you can work really hard.

You’re not laying back. There are times when that’s going to happen but

you know, there are times in service that you’re just in service and that’s

it. It doesn’t really matter.

: At expression of the Divine or rather than your dream or your, you knowKevin

given to you.

: So you don’t do anymore based on what your outcome is that’s kind ofGabriel

: Exactly. The outcome is you’re living a life.Kevin

: Okay.Gabriel

people see, Gabriel would show it right now at these days and Gabriel’s

life here is like, he’s working really hard, you know at time hours and so

forth, but knowing deep down it isn’t about that. It’s just that is a part of

guru palpa. The world is the guru.

up and you’re liberated doesn’t mean you’re done. You’re just beginning

the next evolutionary step whereas Kundalinis are major evolutionary

step, being liberated is a major evolutionary step that is just the next

phase and that keeps going. There is no stopping here. See what I

mean?

: All your experiences deepen your understanding because just you wakeKevin

: Yes.Gabriel

you simply are the offering. You’re not offering something, you are the

offering. You’re being lived by love and you’re being lived by liberation.

It’s just living you, your not living it.

: It’s a constant unfolding with more and more surrender into the will andKevin

: Wow.Gabriel

: And the live food turns you into a super conductor of the Divine.Kevin

: How?Gabriel

the – what we call in India is 72,000 nadis which are the subtle nervous

system and there goes three – of those are three main ones, and then

there’s the main one called the Shushumna, okay?

: In the… let’s say the subtle physiology of that, what happens is you haveKevin

: Yes.Gabriel

mean, obviously being off dairy and flesh food, which are basically had

the energy of the culture of death and misery in them, and pain, and

suffering and all the pesticides and herbicides. When you are eating live

foods, you’re getting the life force of the whole living planet. And you bite

into, you know live food whatever, then you’re biting into the living planet.

That’s pretty electrifying when you think about it.

: And when you’re on live foods you minimize the toxicity of the system, IKevin

: Okay.Gabriel

eating when you’re doing it and I’m going to mention…we’ve been talking

yoga, but I’m going to switch to kabbalah for a moment. When you bless

the food before and after, in kabbalah we bless it afterwards as well, you

create the cycle of not only with the living planet, but with all the angels;

this is more esoteric and is what goes on. And in the kabbalistic

teachings there are souls in the rock. There are four levels of life. Rock

sprouting, plant life, higher the animal life, and human life. Okay?

: And you’re feeling all that’s involved and in a deep way, even the act ofFor more great secrets about the raw and living food lifestyle, visit

www.rawsummit.com!And you’re releasing souls that have transmigrated backwards into the

plants or moving forward and when you’re conscious enough, when

you’re chewing, you know the food you’re creating a release of those

souls to go to higher levels. I mean every move you’re making is an

offering. Okay? Everything you’re doing, you’re turned on and when

you’re eating live food you don’t have the toxins coming because

obviously live food is more connected to organic and you don’t have any

of the clogs in nadi such as dairy and the issues of the vibrations of

death, then you become more and more pure, right? So the energy

moves to you more directly and you become resonant with not only living

planet, but with the cosmos in that way you become a super conductor for

the Divine.

Now let’s play physics for a second. Different paradigm, but it’s very

helpful. Quantum physics has made the point that all of creation is a

living biophoton cloud. Biophotons are subatomic particles all connected

to each other. They could be millions of miles apart, but they may know

each other, okay? Really connected. Now we as human beings

particularized out of that living, biophoton cloud, okay?

Kevin

: Um hum.Gabriel

five times as much biophoton energy as commercial foods and wirecrafted

foods have twice as much as inorganic, okay? Now they’ve done

some research with biophoton energy in Europe. This is really

fascinating. So basically junk food people have about 1000 units of

biophoton, okay?

: Step further. Live food has five times as much – organic live foods haveKevin

: Yes.Gabriel

eating cooked organic has about 20,000 units and live food has about

83,000 units. That’s double of a newborn.

: Babies… newborn babies have about 40,000 units. A person who’s justKevin

: Wow.Gabriel

fasting and herbs as well as the live foods. So what are we saying?

We’re saying, “Oh my goodness! We’re talking about you are pulling in a

tremendous amount of biophoton energy into your system.” But what’s

biophoton energy do? Well first, it makes the cell wall communicate

better with the nucleus. It also helps the inner communication between

cells. It also helps in the communication between what appears to be

distinct entities meaning this human being not human being. If you see a

school of fish, you know how they move all at once?

: Okay? And one guy tested about 110,000 units because he is doingKevin:

Yes.Gabriel:

So, when you get that it’s all one biophoton energy and is a live fooder,

to outside the cell, between cells, between humans, and it also helps you

better in a sense the conscious of your oneness with the total biophoton

energy mother ships, so to speak.

And you understand it makes everything work better from inside the cellKevin:

around you? Is that what you’re saying?

Okay. So you suddenly become in tune with all the other energy that’sGabriel:

They get more psychic. They get more tuned in. They feel more their

oneness, just naturally. And that’s what we mean by being a “Super

Conductor of the Divine.” All your channels are open. Okay. It’s easier

to have a clean new wagon. Usually, there’s need for shock depart which

does disintegrate. And that’s what we do at the Tree and that’s why we

give a dozen when he’s traveling. That’s really part of the Divine Mission

that his job is to awaken that. So we’ll be out, you know at different

places. And you know, whether it’s around the world. In Israel, I’ve done

it in Muslim countries, they get it. Everybody gets it. You know, South

America, Central America. This is the awakening of the divine force. We

call it “The Divine Kiss” but it’s like when you’re on live food, it just

happens so much easier. So much easier because all your channels are

ready to receive and hold the energy and maintain the energy. That’s

how you become a superconductor.

Exactly! And basically, we see that happen with people on live foods.Kevin:

Um hum.Gabriel:

and things surface. What’s your explanation to that?

because usually with the dead food you’re putting dead food in the dead

places.

Yes, and this is often why we recommend people to just go 80% firstKevin:

suppressing your consciousness. You go to live foods and suddenly,

suppressed stuff that comes up. So, we like people to get up to 80%.

Okay. And just hold there until they kind of emotionally detox and

physically detox because the live food is just forcing out every level of

toxin. That’s how we look at it. So, maybe you need it to be refreshed

after three months or six months. When people do spiritual fasting and

the zero point which follows up which is part of our program here; you

know we have right here then that process is greatly excoriated and really

fasting on green, this is just probably the fastest way to make a transition

because you lose your cell memory for the cooked food but you also

detox very quickly.

Kevin:

Is that cell memory?Gabriel:

Cell memory for the cooked food, yes.Kevin:

Yes. But it’s a physical or it’s emotional or you’re…?Gabriel:

Oh both.Kevin:

You’re grouping them into both. Okay.Gabriel:

taste and all that. You have a new program but the emotional stuff comes

up that it comes up in more conscious way and we also have the zeropoint

course which teaches you how to dissolve all that junk that you’ve

been suppressing with the cooked food.

Well, you have some memory for the cooked foods. You know all theKevin:

Is there a difference between the physical and the emotional?Gabriel:

make them. When people fast and they clear out the toxins in the

system, it seems to free up and release the negative emotions. So, the

toxins are kind of stored. The physical toxins are also stored in the brain

and in the nervous system. And when you’re clearing those then you

start to release that. So, what we see in the past and these first few days,

there’s more release of the physical toxins and then day 4, 5, 6…either on

4 or 5, you start to release more of the emotional toxins. People will start

having dreams, you know sometimes, you know different things come up

and the whole process goes pretty quickly and then that’s how it tends to

work. So in a sense, the emotions are stored in the physical structures

The vitamin B12 in the raw and vegan community is a big issue. I just

I’m going to answer it but I just want you to know that we’re really haven’t

completed answering this.

Well, there is a chapter in Spiritual Nutrition that’s extensive. Okay? So,

Kevin:

Okay.

Gabriel:

get all your B12 from your food. Okay?

And when you’re conscious eating, it was absolutely clear that you could

Kevin:

C-vegetables and B-power or whatever. But, what I didn’t understand

was that there were analogs that blocked the uptake of human-active

B12. And later, as the research has gotten better, there is a breakdown

product which is now the, let say the gold standard for measuring it and

that is what we’re using and in some days my mind just went blank on it,

but it’s alpha-linolenic acid. What we are seeing is that the old standard

was 200 nanograms and now it looks like at the blood level of

measurement, it should be about 400 nanograms. Now, that’s important

because it’s at around 400 where your homocysteine levels goes to

normal. Okay? A homocysteine is a toxin to the nervous system and to

the circulatory system. So, you have to have about 400 nanograms or

450 nanograms to go to normal. Now, how do we measure if what we’re

eating is raising the B12? It’s simple. You just do the test. It’s a urine

test.

Because the research, I’ve found human-active B12 and all the

Kevin:

Um hum.

Gabriel:

Okay. So far, we haven’t yet found any food that will decrease the B12

deficiency. Now, let’s just say…let’s go back for a second. There’s 18

studies of vegans and live fooders, three on live eaters…in every single

study, 18 out of 18 shows that when you, after about six years, about

80% of vegans or live fooders become B12 deficient.

And we get the answer. If your urine test goes to normal then you’re fine.

Kevin:

Okay.

Gabriel:

about twice as much.

Please note that 39% of meat-eaters are B12 deficient. So the rate is

Kevin:

Okay.

Gabriel:

few people that’s six years or 10 years 20% were not B12 deficient. But

at 30 years, they may turn out to be B12 deficient but I don’t know if you

want to wait to find out.

So, given that picture, what we’re looking at is that, you know there are a

Kevin:

Sure.

Gabriel:

serious and the research suggests that, you know you give B12 to kids,

they’re fine. They’ll be having no problems – vegan kids or live food kids.

But, if you don’t give B12 to kids and they will get deficient and they may

not be able to recover.

Because at that point, it’s almost too late. Now, for children, it’s very

Kevin:

Gabriel:

who were discovered to be B12 deficient, pay the price and the sins and

then they were put on the supplement that really about three-quarters of

Study with 12 kids that they followed from, you know early age on up,

them, you know when they even reach their teens, were still suffering

from some neurological problems.

Kevin:

Wow.

Gabriel:

theory. We’re interested in, you know clinical results. As a physician it’s

like I can’t tell mothers not to give their kids B12. That is criminal.

Well, you know that’s not acceptable. You know, I’m not interested in

Kevin:

Yes.

Gabriel:

find a combination to have one of our masters students working on that,

that will work. But, we don’t know that yet. So, we have to be a little

conservative about this. So, now there’s a guy who for example who was

a vegan who was 30 years above B12. He’s in his 80s, suddenly he can’t

stand up. Suddenly he gets tremors. Suddenly, his memory goes away.

Suddenly, he becomes incontinent and people say, “This guy is just gone.

You know, he’s 85.” And then they do a test…the B12 test. She’s got

zero B12. They give her a B12 shot and, you know each day for a week

and suddenly he’s back to normal.

Even what our data tells us. Given what our data tells us, maybe we will

Kevin:

Really.

Gabriel:

know downhill, you know and you think, “Well, yes. I didn’t get it,

therefore I’m the exception and therefore everybody doesn’t need to have

B12.” That’s a real miscommunication, if you see what I’m saying.

That took him 30 years. Well, if you want to wait 30 years and go, you

Kevin:

Absolutely.

Gabriel:

20 years you may suddenly, you know be this away and some people go

within a year or 2 and, you know they crave meat and there have been

two fruitarian communities who have tried it. Johnny Lovewisdom, have

you ever heard of him?

So, if you’re in the 20% then it’s fine. It’s 6 to 10 years. Don’t think that in

Kevin:

Um-hum.

Gabriel:

started to get bizarre, crazy, sick. He himself became paralyzed. It

definitely appeared that we didn’t test him but he was B12 deficient

among other things.

Okay. He, as far as what we can tell is with a year their community

Kevin:

they had higher congenital defects to babies. Two or three years, you

know most of the community really begin to degenerate mentally and

physically. So we just, for what we know, it’s somewhat very dangerous

B12 issue. Obviously, some groups who or one group particularly says

you get everything from your food. It just doesn’t show. They did a

research for example in natural hygiene people, 90% of them were B12

deficient.

think 25% of them were less than 100. That’s really low! We were saying

we need about 400 to 450 to be good.

: Okay, 90%. What does that mean? That means less than 200 and IKevin:

do is test your urine. You take your urine from anywhere. You freeze it

and certain laboratories will do it. What it is… it’s a metabolite and if

you’re B12 deficient methylmalonic acid coenzyme A does not transfer

with this succinyl-coA which you need for energy in your system. That’s

one reason that B12 deficiency leads to lower energy. But the MMA test

is the gold standard, methylmalonic acid test. It’s really the best test

there is. It’s much more accurate than the serum B12.

: The gold standard test is called the methylmalonic acid test and all theyKevin

: Almost any laboratory, I mean, we’ll do it here for people but almost anyKevin:

400…well, basically it should be normal. If it’s not normal, if it’s high, it

means the methylmalonic acid is not being metabolized correctly and that

because you have the B12 deficiency.

And when here, we send it out to a laboratory, you know, local. Here inKevin

: Okay. So, I’d say it again, if it’s over 400, if it’s like 2000?Gabriel

usually a serum B12 of between 400 and 450.

: I said two things that the equivalent of a normal methylmalonic acid test isKevin

it’s going to vary. That’s why I’m not giving the number because

apparently I don’t have the standard.

: This is an incredible insight. I’m glad that we actually got into thatGabriel

don’t give your kids B12, initially they have three cases. There’s a

community there that’s a Black African community living in Israel who

didn’t believe in the B12 and they’ve had at least in the literature. Now,

we’re talking literature, I don’t know what else is going on. There are at

least three important cases of kids dying of B12 deficiency. Okay? We

have no idea of the amount of cases of kids who become neurologically

impaired because you need B12 for the development of your neurological

know that once you’ve been deficient for a child, a high percentage of

those kids never really go back to normal. Not that there’s been

extensive studies but they’ve done enough studies to make a big hint that

that’s the way it is.

: Well, it’s a harmful issue. It’s just not an issue. It’s not theory. If youKevin

There is another way. A good starting foundation is simply the raw-living food, vegan, whole organic diet. RAW SPROUTED PIZZA

Our locally-held Sproutman talk and potluck with live music was a great success.

With the potluck came some special dishes, including a raw, sprout (or sprouted) pizza that was “mamma mia good.”

We will make up some Youtube footage of the event. As always, the Sproutman or Steve Meyerowitz’s talk was incredible. He is so knowledgeable and inspirational to us all. With his many unique inventions to help the sprouting process, he has made invaluable contributions to the living foods movement. Well, I could go on with praise for sometime, but without further ado I want to share with you our great pizza recipe for that event. So here it is:

SPROUT CRUST

INGREDIENTS
4 cups of red hard wheat berries
1 clove of garlic
1 medium onion
Italian seasoning
pinch of dulse
1 tablespoon of Bragg’s Aminos
Sprout, grind, and mix with ingredients
Set sit for 24 hours to sour and then bake in dehydrator until crisp

SPROUT PIZZA SAUCE

BLEND THE FOLLOWING INGREDIENTS

4 tomatoes
Italian seasoning
½ cup of kimchee
1 clove garlic
¼ large onion
pinch of dulse
teaspoon of lime
(no water)
Tablespoon of Bragg’s Aminos
¼ cup of aromatic, cold-pressed olive oil
¼ cup of fenugreek or favorite sprouts

“SPROUT PIZZA CHEESE”
Grind two cups of cashews

PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER
Spread the sprout pizza sauce, garnishing veggies and sprouts on the sprout pizza crust and add “sprout pizza cheese” on top. We used broccoli in the center, and then cut in half cherry tomatoes and cucumber slivers. We laid this out in a floral or radiating-from-the-center manner.  Alternatively you can garnish with many other veggies, such as mushrooms, cut olives, and sprinklings of basil leaves – and a variety of sprouts or sprout greens as in the sunflower greens shown above.

Now warm to serve in dehydrator and oh my….enjoy!

RAW ADVENTURE
My name is April Stevenson and I’m visiting the Raw-Wisdom Community and volunteering with Nathan  in Oneonta, New York. This visit is my first full-fledged venture into a raw food diet and I’ve been really enjoying it.

FRUGAL INSPIRATION FOR MAKING RAW VEGGIE BURGERS
This past Thursday morning we both decided (and because lunch on Wednesday afternoon was so filling and required so much chewing) that we could use a break. We therefore opted to have juiced fruits & vegetables for breakfast and instead of anything heavier. The juice ingredients included  plum tomatoes, carrots, ginger, garlic, broccoli rabe (rapini), kale and leeks. The drink was most refreshing and had quite a strong taste. Though composting is done here, I felt the juice pulp leftovers should still be eaten too. Thus Nathan suggested making veggie burger patties with the remaining pulp. For further inspiration he referred me to read “The Raw Gourmet” by Nomi Shannon where on page 134 there was a neat recipe for Lentil Burgers.

GIVING IT A TRY
For my own purposes, however, I didn’t follow that because I’m really not, you might say, a precision “recipe person.” Normally I’m just content with winging it. Besides, seeing how all the ingredients are truly healthy and flavorful, I think it’s hard to have an undesirable result (unless you really go overboard with certain strong-tasting spices or foods). Getting back to our burgers, Nathan encouraged me to give it a go….. and I did.

OUR MODIFIED RECIPE
I started by juicing a few more items, namely a couple lemons and a handful of celery stalks. This I combined in the food processor with the leftover pulp plus about a cup of sprouted lentils. Before processing all of this, I also used an inexpensive coffee/spice grinder and filled the grinder’s cup with brown flax seeds plus a little bit of  Gopal’s Rawmesan (Parmesan cheese replacement), Celtic Sea Salt, Organic Caribbean Season by Sharp Labs Inc.

COMBING IT ALL
Again I am not the kind to measure things exactly (too left-brain). I rather like to experiment. So feel free to do the same yourself! Putting this all together, I combined the pulp ingredients and seasoning and let this spin in the food processor for about 3 minutes. When the mixture reached a bulky consistency I was comfortable with, I then formed the veggie patties and in a size not larger than my hand. I ending up with a total of nine and placed them on trays in the very cool Excalibur Food Dehydrator. The setting at which I left them on was about 105 degrees (marked the “living food” setting). By the time we got back in the evening, the burgers were ready to eat for supper (though you can, of course, have them at any point of the day).

MMM…HOW MOST DELICIOUS
Our veggie burgers were really delicious, very flavorful (of course not greasy or fried at all) and they didn’t leave me feeling full or weighed down. I just LOVE knowing how far all that raw food stretched!  So happy eating!

THE STORY OF FAYE CHIPPERFIELD
Faye Chipperfield came to the Gerson Therapy hospital at the age of 14 suffering from CF or cystic fibrosis. CF is a genetically-triggered disorder that causes, among other things, excess mucus to clog the lungs and other vital passageways. Such congestion creates a feeding ground for infections. The usual response is a constant treatment with antibiotics. Cystic Fibrosis is said to be incurable. That label is typically proposed when conventional medicine fails to heal and/or assume responsibility for such failures.

REVISION OF THE ORIGINAL BLOG POST
Several readers of this blog have been up in arms about such statements about CF being potentially curable. Thus I have added a more detail to clarify this. I also pointed out in a prior posted blog that CF definitely involves a set of defective genes from both parents. See Cystic Fibrosis – Can It Be Reversed? Some readers tried to say that I had poorly research this issue in saying  “CF is only “supposedly genetic” and was therefore posting misinformation. Rather the question remains is the essence of what we are dealing with a fixed and permanent genetic defect. In other words, is this permanently indelible or something that the healing powers of the body can or cannot overcome and repair once genetically triggered. So I am here adding a reference to an important discussion of the gene theory http://bit.ly/Mendel- and therein what is deterministic (cannot be reversed or cured) and what is not so. Certainly genes can help determine whether something in a seed grows to become a potato or a carrot or an apple tree. But other factors, lifetime care and surroundings, also come into play whether such living forms are whole and healthy or subject to disease and rot. The same can be true for our lives.

THE  SCARY PART
When a person has an illness as deep-seated,  frightening and mysterious as CF , and triggered by hidden genes that we can’t see, feel or touch, we naturally rely immensely on the wisdom, science and knowledge of professionals to help us overcome or at least deal as best with the condition. The advise of MD doctors is thus far more than a deepest emotional security. It is a patient’s most important lifeline to life. Any serious critique of the doctor’s approach will appear threatening. But we have to come to grips with a larger  fact. The modern view of healing our bodies is substantially failing on a societal level – with many chronic illnesses such as diabetes, cancer, arthritis, arteriosclerosis on the rise and not being healed. Would a successful healthcare system be discreasing our health costs or near bankrupting our economy? Knowledge is not the same as wisdom (knowing rather what knowledge to know as being vital).

STEPPING OUTSIDE
When stepping outside the allopathic medical paradigms (rooted in the 17th century’s vision) we do see real and dramatic reversals of many major chronic ailments. This is because the life forces in the body are fed, nurtured and elicited or brought out – and not the principles of machines or what is mechanical. Doctors rarely understand how a life-force eliciting therapy works because it violates their root paradigms about pharmacology and genetics. They may call it a fluke or impossible and try to debunk any apparent turnaround as a spontaneous remission. Bringing out living forces is really an entirely different kind of medical science. I outline this in this blog and in other writings - using living foods, periodic detoxifcations, meditation and excise in lieu of drugs, surgery, radiation and genetic engineering.  The rare scourge of cystic fibrosis is no exception. This is because the deeper laws of nature may be considered the more universal and deeper digging.  Thus imagine that genes or gentic expression can potentially be repaired, in part or full, by such an approach. Here I have just dug up Faye’s single case as an example of many.

ILL AFTER A SERIES OF VACCINATIONS
In the case of Faye, the child appeared normal at birth but at age six months was given a series of vaccinations for mumps, measles and rubella. After this treatment, she developed an infection that she could not overcome. The diagnosis then was cystic fibrosis. Kept on an extended regime of antibiotics, she also began to have pain and breathing difficulties and was not growing normally as is typical for cystic fibrosis sufferers.

LIFE EXPECTANCY
For the record, life expectancy of a CF patient has risen over the past four decades. It has shown considerable progress. Currently it is somewhere between 35-38 years of age, according to different sources. Before digging into several statistical sources, I  posted 20 years (copying an older article).  On further research I discovered the average life-expectancy was even lower in the 1980′s.  Fortunately now we see the median life expectancy is about 32 years for newborns. For those children who survive infancy, average life expectancy is higher, closer to 40 years. Lastly, with adequate pancreatic function it can exceed 50 years.  So there is significant cause for hope in terms of life-extension. But another question remains. Can we do still much better by repairing the genetic defect more deeply? Can we actually cure this ailment as such,  extending not only the number of years but the ultimate quality of life?

MOTHER AND CHILD’S CONDITIONS BOTH REVERSED
Getting back to our story, with the Gerson Therapy and using intense living food vegetable and fruit juices, Faye’s infections came under control. Her breathing normalized, and her chest pains went away. When the child returned home she went off the Gerson Therapy and some symptoms came back. Ignoring the dire warnings of her Australian physicians, the young girl and her mother braved a long flight and return to the Gerson Mexico clinic where again her condition improved. Her mother’s chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) cleared up as well.  As is common with CF patients, Faye was advised she probably could never have children. On the contrary she had a a beautiful, normal and healthy baby.

Some years ago I helped fund the establishment of a Gerson therapy center in Sedona Arizona. We had patients there who reversed many diverse chronic illnesses. Among them was a young chiropractor from Oneonta, NY. He had Stage VI Melanoma, generally incurable, which was reversed. WHAT IS CYSTIC FIBROSIS

(Healingtalks) Cystic fibrosis is said to be an hereditary disease that mostly affects the clogging of the gastrointestinal and respiratory tracts. It is often thought to be progressive, resulting in increasing disability and early death. The term refers to scarring and cyst formation (such as in the pancreas) and which was first recognized as a distinct ailment in 1930. The most pronounced symptom are the obstruction of  body channels. The results include difficulty in breathing and frequent lung and sinus infections – along with poor growth, diarrhea, and infertility.  The overall cause is presumably a mutation of the gene CFTR or cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator. The gene is linked to the regulation of sweat, digestive juices, and mucus. It is known as an autosomal recessive disease as it develops when two paired genes from both parents are not working normally.

PREVALENCE  OR RARITY OF CF

About 1 in 3,000 white births, 1 in 15,000 black births, and 1 in 32,000 Asian births exhibit this disease. Approximately 30,000 Americans have cystic fibrosis. This makes it one of the most common, life-shortening diseases. CF patients progressively worsen and die at a young age. Sometimes they receive lung transplants to try to lengthen their life span. As with  most chronic and systemic ailments, allopathic medicine states that it sees no cure for cystic fibrosis. The only conventional prognosis then is for life-long treatment.

TESTING FOR CF

A simple saliva test can determine the presence of cystic fibrosis, as can genetic testing.  Newborns can be screened via  a blood test (looking for concentrations of immunoreactive trypsinogen) though it can provide a false positive so that this has to be confirmed via a sweat test. Parents can also undergo prenatal testing.

CF SYMPTOMS

Cystic Fibrosis symptoms include salty tasting skin (high levels of sweat electrolytes), sticky mucous, poor ability to gain height or weight, despite a normal diet.  Bowel obstructions may occur as well as chronic coughing, gagging, vomiting and/or shortness of breath due to clogging of the airways.  Clogging of the pancreas results in poor digestion or malabsorption. Damage of the pancreas can also lead to diabetes.  At least 97% of men with cystic fibrosis are infertile but not sterile – or can have children via assisted means.

A RUTHLESS DISEASE

Needless to say, cystic fibrosis is a ruthless disease, and we can find more details about its conventional writeups such as that of Wikepedia. Here we move on to the main question.

IS CF AN INCUREABLE DISEASE?

First it is important to know that what in allopathic medical lore is called a disease symptom is often the result of our bodies trying to rid themselves of toxins. This includes the formation of mucous which, as David Wolfe points out in the SunfoodDiet, both buffers sensitive organs and transports acids and chemical poisons out of the body. This is why we cough and sneeze.  Fevers which are triggered by infections do the same. They try to help the body rid itself of what is harmful.  If we treat such “diseased conditions” via suppressive means,  as is common in conventional modern medicine, we may be thwarting the core of a healing process – and thus causing a progressive degeneration that ultimately must lead to death. And so we may give the patient powerful antibiotics to suppress fevers and abnormally high protein diets, which are generally acid-forming and thus mucus generating!  Indeed then cystic fibrosis becomes an incurable disease that is life-threatening.

GENE-THEORY

The original gene theory was the result of Gregory Mendel’s attempt to understand any  transfer of features from parent to offspring via some atomic-like, thus mechanical, statistical or math-bound view. Life’s generational adventures were forced to fit the overall mechanical model of Newton’s universe. What this ignores is that life and consciousness do not fit that model. Life and consciousness are at the core of our being and not the principles of a machine.

CONSCIOUSNESS

Because consciousness is the relationship of connection itself in nature and healing also is a form of reconnection, the enhancement of consciousness results in depth and integral healing. This is something largely unknown in modern medicine. Thus to say that genes maintain a life-long fixed and predetermined disease path is essentially expressive of the same mechanistic/machine-like view of our bodies. This fits the needs of a commercial, price-tagging culture.  The problem is when one is stuck in a mechanical view, there is no deep understanding of how to elicit again life’s consciousness/healing forces. Then the mechanical view (including the  chemical, math-designed) becomes dominant and prophetically self-determinative.  The illness follows its mechanical course – as expected – downhill.  To change that downward course we need to break out of the whole and entire mechanical mindset.

EXAMPLE OF A DOWNHILL PATH

Let me illustrate this with an example highlighted in an essay by my friend Arnold, of Arnold’s Way.  It is the story of a little boy by the name of Thomas Paul Parson, Jr. He was born in 1997 and diagnosed with cystic fibrosis at the age of 4 months. He soon had weight loss which brought his weight down to 7 lbs. As his mucous thickened and would not drain, he was treated with nine chemical medications for nearly half a year.  He was given extra protein and calories as that is the normal. The overload creates yet more mucous – especially when dairy products are involved. The body starts to cough more, being further abused. Fevers and more skin sweat excretions occur as the body struggles nobly to offset the treatment.  Thomas Paul was bombarded by the best of conventional know-how for a year and a half  and with no signs of improvement. He constantly had pneumonia bouts. He was fed intravenously with a tube surgically installed, and  to the point of his small veins collapsing.

REVERSING CF DIRECTIONS

Then at 22 months of age his parents decided to switch gears. They took their child off the medications and replaced them with a diet of raw and living fruits and vegetables. The transformation and reversal was immediate.  As the diet changed, so did the symptoms. The pneumonia bouts stopped, the shortness of breath, the coughs, the thick mucous excretions.  The X-rays showed the lung tissue scars, a gross manifestation of cystic fibrosis, were gone.  Thomas Paul is now growing up normally.

PAST DEPTH-ILLUSIONS

We have written over and over again that modern medicine has its epistemological and ontological roots – its knowledge gaining and physical foundations – in the essential illusion process of human consciousness. What is illusion? It is the breakdown in the integrity of consciousness. What is consciousness? The principle of connection itself in nature. How does modern medicine organize its consciousness overall? Via the study of chemistry, physics, and genetics or the math-based view of nature – the mechanical. What is mathematics? The highest organizing abstractions for the separation of all elements of consciousness. This designs what is mechanical - creating machines made of separate parts. In living  and healing domains, however, those symbols  work to disintegrate the connective essence of consciousness. Why? Because again consciousness’ essential essence is universally connectivity, and what math symbols point to is universally separative – disintegrating phenomenon. This helps build machines made of separate parts that are neither conscious nor alive. It is thus a mistake to view the physical body as a machine. This extends to the gene theory which is also a mechanical view of our inherent essence.

IN PRACTICAL TERMS

Most physicians are not really callous, malicious or deceitful. They, themselves, tend to believe in what they practice as being the best. They have little clue about alternatives and how they might work differently. With a large percentage of medical educational being funded by pharmaceutical giants, modern physcians turn out to be mis-educated in the natural healing arts.

STOPPED LISTING

The so-called miracle of Thomas Paul’s reversal is actually routine among the rare patients who turn to natural healing arts that involve the re-establishing of a higher level of life force in the body.  It occurred in this case because his parents stopped listening to, as Arnold writes, phrases like  ”closely monitored in taking of drugs,” “getting the best of individualized care” or “following the lastest pharmaceutical studies that have shown clearly that…” and so on and so forth - the typical authority-generating, mumbo-jumbo fooling jargon. Thomas Paul’s parents had the strength and courage to spiritually break out of this modern madness.

ANOTHER EXAMPLE

It was 24years ago that Denley Fowlke had two beautiful twin daughers who were fed the Standard American Diet  (SAD). When they appeared ill, he allowed doctors to give them antibiotics but this failed to help them with their frequent infections. His daughters started to also lose weight. After being diagnosed with cystic fibrosis they were given more drugs.  Screening and diagnosis is modern medicine’s gateway to pharmaceutical sales. Since the drugs weren’t working, the doctors suggested sending his daughters to the University of Utah for still more intense drug therapy. Denley, after some deep thought and prayers, gathered the intense inner strength needed to resist such culturally dominant advise. A friend suggested he should speak to a lay and alternative healer. He went to her, and her words which ringed in his mind for years were “you do what I say and you will never have these babies back in the hospital.”

ALTERNATIVES THERAPIES FOR CF

So Denley returned home to clear his kitchen cupboards of all SAD processed foods and began to buy just fresh fruits and vegetables. The girls took two mineral baths each day for two hours. The result was a deep detoxification from precisely the drug therapies meant for  ”disease maintenance.” This then allowed a true healing to begin. If an intense healing crisis or fever started to manifest, fresh potato juices rather than antibiotics was used. The symptoms were not treated as a disease to suppress. They were rather seen as a sign of immense hope and encouragement . The body was trying and  now able to reverse the condition.  Over time the two girls developed rashes, again a great healing sign as the body was ready to release poisons. Over more time the traditional symptoms of cystic fibrosis subsided and disappeared.

MOVING OUT OF AN AGE OF DARKNESS

We live in an age of immense spiritual and health practice darkness but with growing signs of light and hope. Some cannot see through the thick brambles of modern illusions. As the breakdown of consciousness integrity occurs, so also the consequences include a parallel breakdown of our body’s health. But this is a learning adventure for those willing to learn what nature teaches us. Thus the  reverse is also true. As the clouds within begin to clear, we start to see more light and travel ever more steadily on a path to integral wholeness and healing.

Philosophy of Linking Nutrition To Raising Consciousness
Befoer getting into my raw living food recipe for a dehydrated salad, let me say a few words on my overall philosophy for using nutrition to heal. There are many paths to optimal healing. Nutrition is a major one. We have a choice to  focus on any and all major forms of healing – of  our consciousness, mind, emotions, body, relationships immediate others, society and our planet. In each venue healing  is really a process of reconnection to wholeness. This especially applies to foods, and has something to do with why we prefer whole foods. Now imagine that underlying everything in our universe there is consciousness as the unseen schemata that connects everything as a whole. When we heal, therefore, we simultaneously raise our consciousness or our connectedness within and without.  Each person’s approach to nutrition or diet, however,  has developed somewhat from the outside in, from an upbringing and the influence of their culture. Few  emphasize or are aware of the link between nutrition and raising consciousness.  Eating habits also become ingrained, as a matter of habit and comfort, and thus are quite difficult. My experience has been that the raw and living vegan food diet, along with other approaches (such as alternating nutrition with detoxification) will best support an evolving of one’s consciousness. To explain the rationale  really would involve explaining a entirely different model of nature. That model is a life-and-consciousness centered vision of nature (rather than matter, energy, atoms) are central.  But that discussion in is other posts and here would take us far afield.

Busy Making A New Recipe in My Kitchen
I am excited that tomorrow there is a pot luck get-together locally. See Albany, NY meetup. Thus  I was putting together a recipe to bring to this event. I truly feel it is important to network with others, to connect with those who share this approach. And so I thought why not also share this recipe with my blog readers. In my raw kitchen, the stove becomes largely defunct except for the heating of water to pour over some raw soup ingredients or to make other warm and soothing drinks, especially in the winter. Instead I use the juicer, bender, food processor and dehydrator as my primary appliances. We  may also have some special kitchen tools, like a little gadget to shed vegetables in a way as to mock spaghetti.

Raw Dehydrated Salad
My recipes are often a combination of pre-planning, having a certain idea in mind and shopping for those ingredients, plus adding what ever is left over in the frig – I am not ashamed to admit because this is a creative process that proceeds in the moment, moments of culinary inspiration. So here is the yummy raw and living food recipe to raise healing vibes which I concocted:

Main Ingredients:
2 Bunches         Kale Leaves (removed from stems & broken into smaller pieces)
1 Head              Cauliflower
1 Head              Broccoli
2                       Leaks (or one if you want less of an onion taste)
2 tablespoons    Hemp Oil
2 tablespoons     Almond Oil
6 heaping
tablespoons     Raw Almond Butter

Added Seasoning
3 teaspoons    Tuscan Sea Salt (full of added spices)
1/2 teaspoon   Cayenne Pepper
1/2 teaspoon   Miso-Cup (freeze-dried soup mix)
pinch              Oregano
pinch              Caribbean Spice Mix

Garnish
Edible flowers or whatever makes the dish savoring to the eyes.

Simple Instructions
Putting all the ingredients into a large mixing bowl and mix and massage them together with loving vibrations. I further add an optional quart of water and save the water for a latter healing drink.  Lastly put all the mixed ingredients into the dehydrator, put it on a low setting  like 95-100 and for just a few hours so as not to fully dry. Then you gotta-u-self a most yummy treat. My palate was later in Nirvana.

BECAUSE OF ENZYMES IN RAW FOODS?
Do we love the raw food diet because of enzymes in the food? I have great respect for Ann Wigmore, one of the founders of the raw food movement who advocated that we should eat a living foods diet due to their  life-enhancing enzymes. Get your daily dose of enzymes was the rallying cry. These enzymes will aide digestion. They also speed up countless chemical reactions in our body. If you heat a food over 110 degrees, most of the enzymes tend to die. On the surface, this sounds great. However, there is a problem with this neat rationale.  It actually reinforces a dominant mechanical view of nature (if enzymes are chemically-defined) and one that is, as I would claim, a guiding belief that is actually the chief cause of the destruction of life all over our planet!

Use your ingenuity to make at least an 8 ounce smoothie. Add the whole food to your blender. We use a super-effective Vitamix. Drink and enjoy your  living foods blend as soon after you make it as possible. If you are storing for later use, add a tablespoon of vitamin C powder or lots of lemon and lime. Put this into an airtight glass container as often used in canning. Bring this several times a day and you will feel much better  – given the intense nutrients and powerful detox effects

Health need not be defined by the absence of pain, disease or tension. It can be characterized by a level of vitality or a state of joy. We hold the power to create such inner riches.

GOOD NUTRITION IS A REQUIREMENT
One cannot this, however, with on-going poor nutrition. Food is more than just a fuel to give mechanical energy to our bodies. We are not just machines. Food is also a means to enhance our life force and consciousness.  One can experience this with a raw or living-food vegan diet. Being an organic diet will also support optimum health. Then there is the issue of hydration which includes all liquid nourishment. What is liquid, like our bloodstream, carries life’s essence.

1-2-3 COUNTING CALORIES
The picture of the apple being measured by a measuring tape ties in well with something I passionately teach and using an apple as a metaphor. The lesson I teach  is that the deeper  essence of nature  is  not what modern science tells us with its measuring sticks, scales, and micrometers.  We  supposedly live in just a math-defined world. To bring this down-to-earth, I typically use an apple for an example. Is the apple that fell on Newton’s head really made up of what a dietitian tells us just carbohydrates, proteins, fats, calories – chemically or math-defined?

THE MEASUREMENT DIET
As we carefully measure, we weigh our foods and count calories in a Newtonian dance.  Does this get us well. Does this guides us to deep healing? I think not. Yes we can design a machine that way but not the healing of our bodies. The reasons are explained in my philosophy of  raw-wisdom.

GREATEST OF ILLUSIONS
Adopting a mechanical viewpoint, we allow ourselves to be inundated by countless modern chemicals. The cumulative effect is overwhelmingly to pollute our bodies and also our planet. A 90% failure rate in dieting that takes on a mechanical approach relates deeply to what is explained below.

DAVID WOLFE AND KEVIN GIANNI
In this light, The Diet Paradox is actually unique as put together by nutrition gurus David Wolfe and Kevin Gianni. The program is also being launched to the general public today. It outlines four main ways to effectively lose weight and in a lasting manner.  Their approaches are all-natural and all-organic.

WHY A PARADOX
What the term “paradox” refers to is that fact that again 90% of those who diet tend to gain back all their weight and sometimes more.   The root reason was shown to me graphically at an Isagenix detox seminar as I explain below.

TOXICITY AND WHY WE PUT ON FAT
The average person’s interior fluids contain hundreds of different toxic chemical traces. This accumulation may begin in the womb!  400+ serious toxins have been found in human placentas.  It has also been shown that fat deposits can be a protective mechanism to encase toxins and acids produced by digesting highly processed foods. When a toxic body loses weight via counting calories,  it can actually make things worse!

DIETING WITHOUT DETOXIFYING
Imagine an Eskimo without much body fat and thus not thriving in a bitter cold climate. A skinny person in a toxic body will also not do well. Dieting without detoxifying is not recommended. The relative  % of toxins goes up. A thinner body has a harder time. Food cravings return  with a vengeance.

WHAT THIS TELLS US
Dieting alone can be foolish.  The Isagenix and Diet Paradox programs are unique in that they both recognize this.

ISAGENIX
The Isagenic protocol
is not purely vegetarian or vegan, though they have some vegetarian products. They use organic whey and casein. I think the overall effect still is hugely healing because I have seen the end results.  This is because of  a simultaneous high level of detoxification that negates the relatively smaller level of acidity derived from digesting casein.

6:00  CITRIC JUICE   # I
Drink with supplements and 20-30 minute morning sauna. Squeeze one lemon, orange or grapefruit and mix with 8 ounces of water. Supplements are 4 capsules of Pancreatin (NOW brand) and one tablespoon of MSM

ALTERNATE WEEKS
This program is designed to help reverse chronic systemic ailments by going deep to treat the cause. We want to bring back the vital, life-giving energies into the body and take out what has been sapping the same – toxins, acids, synthetic chemical traces, heavy-metals and lower life forms (bacteria, fungi, and viruses). We alternates a week of intensive nourishment with three meals a day and a series of juices with a week of detoxification . We continue following this program for a minimum of 90 days or until the disease signs and symptoms are no longer present.

WHAT IS INCLUDED
With both weeks there is a high level of hydration therapy. Water brings life out of every seed. So we want to bring that kind of force out of our own body and using juices and other cleansing fluids for this task. The intensive nourishing week includes three meals a day plus thirteen juices. The intensive detox week includes the same number of juices when one includes cleaning drinks. During both  periods we use saunas, enemas (colonics if available) and mild exercise as well as periods of quiet meditation to reconnect the whole inner body-mind-spirit.

11-13 JUICES DAILY

DEALING WITH HUNGER
If you experience hunger during the intensive eating week, grab an extra fruit (or if on a Phase I diet a “vegetable fruit” like a tomato). Or you can be creative in between meal treats with your blender or dehydrator. With the detox week, drink some extra fresh citric juice and add stevia to sweeten it. This will all help with the cravings.

TOO BUSY TO JUICE
If you know ahead of time you will be rushed or away from home, it may be necessary to make some juices for later consumption. If this happens, fill several mason jars full to the top so the juice can only minimally oxidize. Add a tablespoon of Vitamin C  or camu camu powder (naturally rich in vitamin C) or two tablespoons of lemon or lime to each jar to help keep them fresh.

VARY THE GREENS
It is important to chose deep green vegetables and to vary them in making juices and salads. There are many to chose from like kale, collards, bok choy, dandelion leaves, lettuce, parsley, aloe vera,  mint, cabbage and so on.

TO SWEETEN JUICES
Use a little carrot, tomato, sweet peppers, a small apple and/or some stevia – all in moderation. Creativity here is a plus.

HEALING WATER
All the prepared juices during our 90 day healing program are diluted with water. Water is the greatest of healers and we should make sure we have a clean source or water that is filtered at the tap. Always begin the day with some form of hydration – drinking water, juices, taking a sauna and enema. Adding citric juice, green powder ingredients, baking soda, and alkalizer mixes available at health food stores will further alkalize the water.

ENEMAS AND COLONICS
Throughout the 90 day rainbow cleanse it is essential to use some form of enema. We recommend, following the research of Dr. Max Gerson, a coffee enema as being the most potent and with a use at least first thing in the morning and at the end of each day.One can do more if one has the time and inclination and if the condition is severe. 90-DAY RAINBOW DIET CLEANSE – DIET

THREE DIET PHASES – CONTROLLING GLYCEMIC (BLOOD SUGAR INTAKE)
There are three types or phases of diet that can be followed. If there is candida, fungus, virus or any other micro-organism infection, it is best to sugar-starve these micro-critters with what we call a Phase I diet. Otherwise we recommend a Phase 1.5 or intermediate diet. We have a chart available that outlines the food choices. This is based on the combined research work of Dr. Robert Young and Gabriel Cousens.

MODERATE “HEAVY” DIGESTING VEGAN FOODS – NUTS, SEEDS, AND BEANS
When eating seeds, nuts or beans, it is always a plus to first sprout or soak them overnight (with a drop of hydrogen peroxide to prevent molds) – and then eat them as fresh as can be. Most individuals with chronic ailments have a lack of sufficient digestive enzymes – so eating any large quantities of a heavy food is a no-no. They can be made less heavy via sprouting and blending, Keep sprouts refrigerated. Ultimately all nuts, seeds and beans trigger some degree of acidity, not as much as animal flesh products,  so again they should be taken in, in great moderation or small quantities – like a handful of nuts as treat.  Overall the ideal protein level in a diet is 5% or less of caloric intake and most vegetables provide that amply. We only eat bean protein products, like soy, on a quite rare occasion. Almonds and sunflower seeds, when soaked overnight are more alkaline – and the best way to take their protein in is via blending them and then straining the milk through a nut milk bag.

THREE MEALS
We recommend keep breakfast light to extend the overnight fast. Make lunch the main meal when the digestive enzymes are the strongest. Thus dinner should also be on the light side.

IN BETWEEN SOUPS, SNACKS, RAW-CHIPS
At any time of the day one can have a snack or some warming soup made by pouring hot water over your favorite ingredients rather than cooking the soup. Alternatively one can make a quick blend in the blender or chew on some chips made in the dehydrator.

SEAWEED OR ALGAE
We recommend a daily intake of one or another kind of seaweed or sea algae- whether in soups, salad dressings, blends or as part of at least one meal a day. They provide needed trace minerals.

NO OILS
Instead of oils one can add small amounts of avocado, flax, chia, and or coconuts to the diet – all of which provide healthy fats. Put flax seeds into a coffee grinder and you have a ground meal that can be added to a cereal, salad, soup and many other recipes. This follows the advise of the groundbreaking work of Dr. Esselstyne.

Getting the Kids to Eat Their Veggies

Now that my kids are getting older, it is becoming more and more difficult to convince them to maintain their healthy diets. When they were babies, it was easy to puree all-natural, organic food for them, and they would love to eat it. Now that they are going to school and experiencing other foods that I have no control over, it is getting more difficult to keep raw food in their diet.

One method that I have used to make vegetables more palatable to them is juicing. When you combine fruits and vegetables in juice, the natural sweetness of the fruits masks the flavor of the vegetables that may be disagreeable. By combining vegetables that normally would put-off my children with sweet fruits, I am able to give them their vegetables without them noticing.

WHAT IS LIFE WISDOM IN THE RAW PART II

CONTINUATION
This is a continuation of an earlier post about seeing a life-centered vision of nature through a right-brain dominant way of seeing. We have a literally split right and a left hemisphere and they tend to see reality differently (unless brought together in a whole brain view). This corresponds to two forms of consciousness that may be united or posed at odds.

TWO ROOT FORMS OF CONSCIOUSNESS
Bertram Russell once offered two metaphors for understanding out universe  – a pail of molasses and a pail of sand. This is reminiscent of the choice between a particle and  a wave theory in quantum physics. Which view, the separative or connective, the pail of sand or that of molasses,  is the  best or the more objective?

CONNECTIVELY DOMINANT
There is no really black and white answer. What I’ve discovered is that the surface/separative appearance of nature is best left-brain described and dealt with. The depth-essence of nature is fathomed with the opposite approach.  Raw-wisdom moves only to our awareness becoming more connectively dominant, with the separative view remaining essential but subservient. What all this means becomes clear in the application to the healing arts that bring out life and consciousness from what appears to have little.

RAW VIEW
The right-brain dominant view may also be called the  “raw” view or what is concept-naked.  This is similar to Buddhism’s emptying our minds to raise consciousness of the oneness in meditations. There is also a second usage of the term “raw” as discussed below.

ROLE OF CONSCIOUSNESS
Let me first say that the single greatest discovery in my whole and entire life, without exaggeration, has been the central understanding that what is  “consciousness”  taps  into a universal relationship of connection in nature, and thus forms nature’s core essence and depth laws.  Universal connection equates with Oneness and thus consciousness also is the foundation of nature’s interconnected view as a whole.

PAIL OF MOLASSES
This is the” molasses view” in contrast to the “pail of sand view” that offers mechanical, atomistic laws for the surface/separative/illusionary appearance view. This overall and right/left brain understanding has a thousand and one implications and powerful applications. The “pail of molasses view” differs fundamentally from the atomic or mathematical view of  physics and chemistry again representing the pail of sand perspective. The latter is usually the sole “true” vision we have all been brought up to believe in – except for some traces of religious mysticism.

WHAT WE ARE TAUGHT
In our impressionable years attending primary and high schools, we take in this left-brain-eschewed and authoritative way of seeing reality. We are taught to buy-into an only superficially true and depth false view. Because mathematics represents a “universal symbolism for the separation of all forms of consciousness,” it actually makes no logical sense to apply this view to the depth connections of nature (which are consciousness-based) We want to mostly connect not separate ourselves from an understanding of  the whole fabric.  Applying the Newtonian vision, we’ve instead put ourselves in a either passively separated or actively clashing stance.

RAW LIFE WISDOM
Because the concentrated presence of consciousness forms life, this bringing out of life and consciousness (especially in the healing arts) is not the same as the bringing out of the mechanical using physics and chemistry. Here we can note that the term rawis thus further associated with bringing out what is life and consciousness in ourselves, including by engaging the foods we eat. We thus recommend to others to follow a living foods diet. There is a profound reason to water our seeds (water elicits life and consciousness)  or to not cook our foods (fire elicits the destruction of life).

RAISING CONNECTIVE CONSCIOUSNESS
Ultimately the healing of our disintegrated visions, the greening of our mind, is what leads us consistently to a healing change in lifestyles. This offers to raise our connective consciousness and is what raw life wisdom is all about.

IMPACTS ON HEALTH OF GENETICALLY-MODIFIED FOODS

Here is the first part of a two-part synopsis of the major health impacts of genetically-modified foods. Each of the total of fifteen items are discussed in greater detail in my article 50 Harmful Effects of Genetically Modified Foods.

DEATHS
In 1969 dozens of Americans died  (thousands more were impaired) when a GM version of a food supplement  L-Tryptophan was sold to the general public.

NEAR DEATHS
In 1996, Brazil nut genes were spliced into soybeans by Pioneer Hi-Bred. This triggered food allergies which could have engendered anaphylactic shock and death. Nearly 25% of the population has some food allergies. What will the impact be (without any safety testing) of putting fish genes into tomatoes or petunia flower elements into soybeans?  Several studies have shown serious allergic reactions to GM foods – especially with GM soy, Bt-corn, GM potatoes with cod genes, and GM peas.

DIRECT CANCER & DEGENERATIVE DISEASE LINKS
These are legion, especially with genetically modified rGBH growth hormones. A number of other degenerative disease links have been found to DNA fragments found in GM foods – including to cancer, arthritis and blood disorders.

INDIRECT EFFECTS
The use of X-rays and irradiation have been directly linked to a rise in number of cancer rates. Genetic engineering also causes random genetic mutations which thus very likely, if indirectly, can lead to a rise in cancers.

SUPER-VIRUSES
Viruses can cross-breed or mix their gene pools in as little as 8 weeks. GM viruses are commonly used in the creation of GM corn, cotton and canola. There are documented huge risks and dangers involved in the highly probably formation of super-viruses.  No studies, however, have been made on super-molds or mildews and other catabolic life-forms.

BACTERIAL/ANTIBIOTIC THREATES IN MILK
Cows injected with rGBH have a much higher level of bacterial infections. This elicits more antibiotic use by farmers which adds another health-risk layer.

ANTIBIOTIC THREATS VIA PLANTS
Genetic engineering commonly uses  antibiotic resistant genes as markers to trace where implanted genes go in the target plant. An ampicillan-resistant gene is used in GM corn as a marker. These genes can be transferred to super-bacteria resistant to antibiotics. The British Royal Society called for a total ban of this marker due to significant human health risks.

SHIFT
Raw life wisdom  or life wisdom in the raw offers a revolutionary view of the world of nature, shifting from the mechanical, machine-like or dead vision to an oppositely life-centered understanding.


BUT LIFE IS RARE

Of course life manifesting as sentient or aware organisms is quite rare in our universe. How can what is rare represent the essence of nature universally permeating? Isn’t that a contradiction? The aim here is to arrive at possible answers to such questions, and then offer to use that knowledge to turn around our major planetary ecological, social and health crises.

RAW-WISDOM
This also involves a certain pun in using the term “raw.” We advocate a raw-living foods diet as a result of a life-centered vision. However the “raw” view first refers to how our right brain sees naked of “conceptual illusions.

LEFT BRAIN CONCEPTUAL VIEW
The left brain view of reality is the conceptual. ” Concepts are outline images that help us separate something out in our awareness. For example, we might be walking down a street and all the while  have a concept of a “building with red wood trim” in mind. We survey the different buildings and find one that fits our image. We then focus on it. This focusing is a separating out of an element of consciousness. Next we might have the concept of a sidewalk. So we focus on what is beneath our feet. Concepts focus attention using outline images. A line in an outline forms a visual separation. If we strip the mind of all its concepts, its mental separations, we no longer focus in a separative or isolated-elements way. This takes us to the right-brain dominant way of experiencing our consciousness – as an indivisible ocean.

SURFACE ILLUSIONARY
Why might the conceptually-driven or left-brain dominant view be “surface illusionary”?  This is because it is akin to diving into an ocean  and thereby creating walls of water that did not pre-exit. We experience a created consciousness reality rather than a naked or raw one!

PARTLY REAL
In the surface or moment of time these created perceptions exist. They are real. But they tend to obliterate raw experience or cover over what is naked. For example in Nazi Germany a Jew was considered to be like a rat, worthy to be exterminated. But in raw experience Jews don’t look like rats. It is a conceptual imposition, an ideology, and thus a created illusion.

THE ISSUE OF DOMINATION
In general our left-brain mode of consciousness is separative and the right brain connective. We can allow the latter to dominate when we focus on (separate out) something in order to connect to it. For example, we dial a phone number  in order to find (focus attention on) someone. Ultimately this is in order to connect with them, and possibly to shower them with love. Or we might subject them to hatred. The former is  more consciousness-connective and the later consciousness-separative. Because mathematics abstracts how to separate all elements of consciousness, it is the highest left-brain symbolism used to potentially organize a worldview.

USES OF MATHEMATICS
The question then arises: shall we use such a math-constructed vision of nature in a dominantly-separative or subserviently-connective way? With the former choice, we gravitate to an atomic, math-based understanding as in physics and chemistry - which allows us to build atomic weapons and the means for chemical pollution – or is it a better life through chemistry? With a non-conventional approach, we use mathematics consciously and wisely. For example, with a thermometer we measure the departure form a temperature representing a state of balance, such as 98.6 Fahrenheit. This separative knowledge is used for a reversal, a return of the body temperature to a state of balance. We use a separate measurement in order to connect to wholeness and healing.

DOUBLE NEGATIVE
The above refers to  a double negation that creates a positive. Because opposites are reversible in a wholistic understanding, the mathematical orientation can be used invaluably but  subserviently. Otherwise there are vast destructive potentials when used dominantly and without oversight.

WHAT HEALING TALKS

IS ALL ABOUT?

(Healingtalks) When I first started a website called www.Raw-Wisdom.com with Melinda Elliott back in 2008, I wanted to promote a solution-based approach to major planetary problems. I believe our civilization has been following a hugely failing ideology that promotes itself as the truest, most objective (so-called”scientific”) understanding of nature’s essential laws – the mathematical view.  It is actually a mechanical/dead view of nature that is a filtering screen for falsely seeing the essence of nature. Having been a math prodigy, at the age of 17 I had the equivalent of a stroke that temporarily shut down the left brain – that which mathematizes – and from the event had the enlightening experience to see how the mathematical view, my prior religion, did not represent a true view of nature’s essence. So I began the difficult task of reconstructing a vision of nature on much firmer ground – one that does not corrupt or illusionize (breakdown the integrity of consciousness) but heals – and where surprisingly the mathematical view introduced in the 17the century misguides us (most especially in the healing arts)

And so I advocate and uniquely outline a different life-and-consciousness centered vision of nature to renavigate all of life experience toward wholeness, being at one with nature, and thereby healed.

DETOXING OUR VISION OF NATURE
Ultimately what we really need to detox-the-most what is not in our bodies but in our minds – healing our root vision of nature.

MAJOR PROBLEMS WE FACE
Our modern culture must face the fact that half of all the earth’s life forms will soon become extinct unless we dramatically change our ways.  The web of life is deeply interconnected, and so our human survival is also really threatened. Furthermore, our social fabric is simultaneously threatened with disintegration. The single person living alone is the largest growing social statistic of our times. Health statistics reveal our medical-care system is likewise failing apart at the seams with persistent and growing global health pandemics – like cancer, diabetes, and Alzheimer’s disease. Conventional solutions, like “better living through chemistry” have not worked. The GREAT NEWS is that we can turn around all three of these harming trends by transforming the depths of our inner worldview.

HOW TO TURN AROUND OUR MAJOR PROBLEMS
Our brains are wired with two main ways of seeing and which may compete for dominance: the left and the right brain ways. One is actually “catabolic” (seeing things systematically apart) and the other “anabolic” (seeing things systematically connected or whole). We critically need both working together, especially to best connect what is seen as separate. However, if the former, “the separative view,” dominates, we end up taking apart what is whole in nature, and thus creating catastrophes.

Unwisely and unknowingly we’ve chosen this former path as our guiding approach to nature. How? Again as a math prodigy, I used to belive nature’s depth essence was mathematical  and then became a renegade from that view. for math symbols are the universal symbols of separation. One cannot connect or heal a vision of nature thereby – bringing us into oneness with nature.

In my opinion this root thesis, underlying chemistry, physics. and the commercial nature of our society with which a marriage is made, is the greatest of  vision-mistakes ever made.  It is a dominantly catabolic or left-brain approach dominant to nature – what looks only at surface or surface-separate appearances and thus is illusionary. It is the chief cause underlying what now threatens, more and more, our environment as well as our social and inner health ecologies.

This is why an allopathic system of medicine, based on the prescribing of drugs, radiation and genetic modifications – oblivious to organics – causes a shambles of the medical arts and ends up being but a disease-care system for profit.

CONCLUSION
I thus try to offer in this blog some exciting, nowhere-else-to-be-found directives to see the deepest of deep flaws and illusions of our current culture – and to then effect a rescuing and revolutionary global mind change. I want to attract others, young and old, to our online and physical Raw-Wisdom community – to join us in envisioning this fundamental change, and thus creating a truly progressing and healing world – a real progressive heaven rather than non-sustainable movement and to hell on earth, the healing and nurturing rather than destruction and extinction of life – and as the main legacy we leave behind for all of life on earth, for ourselves, and for all future generations.

Raw wisdom is a revolutionary view of the essence of nature, shifting from the mechanical, machine-like and dead view to an oppositely life-centered vision – and to turnaround our major planetary ecological, social and health crises.  It also involves a certain “pun” in using the term “raw.”

RAW-WISDOM
First the “raw” view refers to how our right brain sees naked of conceptual illusions. What is sees is an ocean of consciousness, the opposite of the left-brain separative view that gravitates to an atomic, mathematical understanding. Bertram Russell once contrasted this with two metaphors – the pain of molasses and the pail of sand vision of nature. Which is more true.

What I have discovered is that the surface appearance view or “maya” supports the separative, left-brain dominant kind of vision  while a depth-perceptive right-brain dominant view is the oppositely more connective view.   Our alternative use of the term “raw” is thus explained below and in this context.

ROLE OF CONSCIOUSNESS
Let me first say that the single greatest discovery of my entire life, spanning more than half a century, has been simply the understanding that what we experience as “consciousness” is really a tapping into a universal relationship of connection in nature, and this also forms nature’s core essence – its true “soul.” It also forms nature’s real rather than surface-illusionary laws. This is also the” molasses view” in contrast to the “pail of sand” view of nature. This differs profoundly from the mathematical orientation of physics and chemistry or we are all brought up with an yielding the centrality of an atomic focus. Because mathematics represents the “universal symbols for the separation of all forms of consciousness,” it really makes no rational sense to construct our dominant vision of nature out of mathematical patterns  because laws are intended to connect and not separate profoundly our understanding of the fabric of events. Real causality is what deeply connects not separates events, why billiard ball mechanical laws do not describe depth-causality in nature. Sorry, Galileo and Newton, by in my experience you got it all wrong! What we think is the sanest of sane views, is actually not very sane. That we later pollute our world and create threatening atomic weapons should not come as a surprise.

RAW LIFE WISDOM
Secondly because the concentrated presence of consciousness forms life, bringing out what is life and from the bosom of nature  and rather than bringing out – so-called “discovering” the mechanical and thereby designing and creating machines or factory-farming, etc) is a critical choice we can make.  Here we can note that the term “raw” in the natural healing arts is often associated with living foods, and raw-wisdom is thus all about a raw life-centered as well as a raw or ideologically naked vision of nature – explaining  finally the dual punning use of the term “raw.”

ORGANIC FOODS

The top reasons for buying organic foods are as follows:

  • DOES NOT HARM OR DEPLETE OUR TOPSOIL The soil of our earth is the foundation of the whole human and environmental food chain. The typical organic farm is teaming with life – from butterflies, to frogs, to bees, to you name it. Conventional farms have polluted and depleted soils. They have rendered them sterile, using herbicides and pesticides to kill other life forms. Also through the vast degradation of our soil, we are losing cropland topsoil seven times faster than it is being replaced naturally.
  • PROTECT OUR WATERS
    Nearly 700 hundred toxic chemicals pollute our groundwater, many of them coming from agricutural pesticides and herbicides. These chemicals cause cancer and other debilitating  illnesses and are not removed by conventional means. Virtually all the drinking water in the US is polluted and 2/3rds of our own bodies are made up of water.
  • SAVES ENERGY
    Conventional farming methods use far more petroleum, both to create chemical fertilizers and to till, cultivate and harvest crops. Organic farms are more labor-intensive. Government subsidized conventional farms use 12% of the US total energy consumption. Ultimately we pay the far, far higher price either in taxes and/or the horrid devastation that yields global warming.
  • IMPACTS THE QUALITY OF OUR FOODS
    US agriculture uses more than 800 pounds of toxic pesticides alone. Over 3,000 chemicals are mixed  into our foods directly, and nearly 10,000 are used in the production and storing of foods. Most of these chemicals are harmful to our health. They may engender cancer, birth defects, neurological illnesses, dementia and other serious dysfunctions. According to the EPA, 60% of herbicides, 90% of fungicides and 30% of pesticides are carcinogenic. The National Academy of Sciences estimate as far back as 1987 that pesticides could cause over a million cancer cases in the US alone over our lifetimes. On the positive side, organic produce has repeatedly been proven to have higher levels of essential nutrients, being grow in more living, mineral-rich, composted soils.
  • PROTECTS FARM WORKERS
    Studies have shown a link between pesticide use and Parkinson’s disease, leukemia and cancers among farm workers. An NCI study found that farm workers employed on conventional farms had 6x higher risk of getting cancer. A California study showed that farm workers in the field had the highest occupational illnesses rates of all California workers.
  • IMPACTS  SMALL FARMERS’ SURVIVE
    Most organic farms are family-owned with less than a 100 acres. There has been a vast decimation of family farms for the past few decades. At the turn of the 20th century, farming was the primary livelihood in the US. Now it represents less than 1%. Organic farming remains among the last refuges for surviving family farms amid competition from large industrial farms that try to “cut-throat monopolize” the market. Over a million family farms have been lost over the last  couple decades.
  • REAL ECONOMIC COSTS
    Amid the illusions of the marketplace created by political forces, again many fail to see that organic foods are actually cheaper overall. First conventional farming is hugely subsidized and has hidden costs that are borne by all taxpayers. If you add the health and environmental costs, organic produce is really and truly the least expensive. We must remember that  in the US medical costs have risen from 5% to 16% of the GNP in the last 20 years. Then there is hazardous waste removal costs and that of toxic substance testing and regulation, soil erosion, loss of fertility, wildlife decimation, and so on and so forth ad infinitum. You get the picture.
  • PROMOTES BIODIVERSITY
    Organic farms tend to preserve heirloom varieties while large conventional farms do not and engage in sterile, mechanistic monocropping. The latter requires increasingly more lethal pesticide use as pest become resistant over time and crops become subject to wholesale blights. It was monocropping, followed by a blight, that caused the famous Irish potato famine.
  • EFFECTS  OUR CHILDRENS’ FUTURE
    Children ingest up to 4X the level of toxic residues compared to that of their parents. Tests have shown that exposure in early life, as early as in the womb , reveals residues in the placenta fluids. This often leads to much more cancer latter in life. The damage can be passed on genetically to affect all subsequent generations in a harmful way. This is why we need to detox or help our bodies get rid of lifetime toxic loads. If all-organic food buying seems expensive at first, consider skipping a meal to help your body detox. Or fast for a day. Or shop at a direct farmers market, plant your own organic home garden, work a few hours for your local food coop and/or farm in exchange, and so on. Be creative.   • AN UNWISE VISION OF NATURE
    All living forms have awareness because life’s foundation resides in a presence of consciousness. From tiny nano-bacteria to huge dinasours, living organisms have  awareness. This awareness forms, in my experience, the universal relationship of connection in all of nature, and ultimately the foundation of oneness that interconnects all living creatures. The mechanical worldview of the 17th century disrupts and destroys this weave. This is because its view is based on universally separative symbols (math symbols used to create the mechanical vision). The mechanical view is  thus based on opposite principles to those of life in nature. This is the root reason why when the mechanical vision is deeply (not surface) applied,  this unravels the connective weave of ecospheres. Actually the deeper applications threaten the sustainability of life on earth. This is further why toxic pesticides and herbicides are being banned in several nations.  Otherwise we  follow a death-delivering approach to farming – with carcinogenic impacts on our body and vast disruptions of surrounding nature.

Idea of  Balance

(Healingtalks) The idea of balance is central to holistic medicine. A holistic lifestyle involves achieving equilibrium. Physical imbalances may be the result of any number of factors – lack of exercise, unhealthy foods, toxins, emotional upsets, a shortage of sleep, etc. It goes without saying that these broad issues can be addressed through holistic healing, which aims to restore the overall balance and stops bodily and inner abuses.

Non-Drug Approaches

According to many holistic healers, even physical problems can stem from within – from mental or emotional upsets. Alternative therapies, however, do not involve prescription drugs or ingesting powerful toxins, pain suppressors or stimulants. Allopathic suppression of symptoms with toxic agents or via surgery and radiation is not the same as healing. Alternative medicine rather uses detoxifications, healthier diets, herbal or homeopathic supplementation, exercise and finally ways of healing one’s inner consciousness  – all these are typically prescribed instead.

Time-Tested

Most holistic remedies trace their roots back hundreds or even thousands of years, with  time-tested healing techniques that have prove to be effective of millions.

Greens for Health

For the most healthy recipes use primarily green vegetable drinks and with greens such as lettuce, celery, cucumber, Swiss chard, cabbage, collards, parsley and kale. These are among the most nutrient-dense foods in a juice diet. Also include wheatgrass and bok choy. Use your ingenuity to make at least an 8 ounce glass. Drink and enjoy your living foods juice. If you are storing for later use, add a tablespoon of vitamin C powder or lots of lemon and lime. This is especially important if you are on a program of multiple drinks, as with daily juice feasting or juice fasting. Daily juicing give a more powerful detox.

Mechanical View of Nutrition

(Healingtalks) If  life force is not even something real but all that occurs is reducible to a chemical/mechanical  reaction,  then we might not need anything more than the burning of calories. Our bodies are then like machines that just burn fuel. Our food elements are then all chemically defined – just carbs, sugars, fats, and proteins defined by mathematical descriptions (as chemicals).

Life Force Is Not Something Mechanical

But suppose there is such a thing as “life” and our life force and that this involves our consciousness.

Life’s foundation is rooted in this consciousness. Watch the video Planet Earth that shows the countless and awesome faces or species of life on Earth. They are all sentient. Every living being – from the tiniest nano-bacteria to the largest dinosaurs – exhibits awareness. They all act differently than what is mechanical – like telephone answering machine that have no recognition of the difference between a ferociously angry and a happy voice.

What is Consciousness

I have long advocated that consciousness is not an exclusively human attribute. It is rather represents a trans-personal, trans-human principle in nature – and forms the root universal relationship of connection in nature. Consciousness forms what connects everything. When concentrated, consciousness self-organizes life.

Focus on Bringing Out Life and Consciousness

If not naturally supported and elicited, we see but barren and dead landscapes.  Suppose we want to bring out more, not less, of this life and consciousness in and at the core of nature.  How do we go about it? Let us not turn to the chemical/mechanical model  that brings out the opposite and ends up polluting and causing extinctions. That view actually misdirects our consciousness. Why? This is a long discussion. Without explaining why, we still can see simple the aftereffects – as with our modern, drug-based, allopathic medical approach that is wholesale failing to heal chronic ailments.

Bring Out Life and Consciousness With Raw Food Diet

One way to really bring out aliveness and healing is by eating life-enhancing foods. This refers to raw and living foods, especially greens. What exactly is in those foods that carry more life force? This turns out of be something akin to the sap of a tree and the blood of our vessels. It is the alkaline juices of fruits and vegetables. But why one might ask?

Why Add Juices?

A plausible answer is that if life is grounded in the presence of consciousness, and consciousness forms this awesome universal relationship of connection. What is most connective in our bodies, and in all of nature, should then contain that consciousness and life force. What is most connective turns out to be liquid rather than solid (solid separation). You can see this when you let go of a drop of water into a vast ocean. It reconnects with the whole. The separate identity of each drop disappears. If you bump two solid balls together (studying what is mechanical motion ) the two remain fully separate and do not  connect except superficially by bumping surfaces together and against each other. This is why we use   juice and green blended diets in therapeutic, life-enhancing ways.

Why Green Juices and Blends?

Green is the exact  middle color of the rainbow, generally the most neutralizing, alkalizing and connective. We can see this in the laws of radiant light, or where the opposite colors of red and blue-indigo of the rainbow are pointed together with the middle color green, and whereupon the green pulls the two farthest color separations or far opposites together to remake white, color-separation-less or unified light. This is akin to what happens with drops of water, and water brings out the rainbow.

A Life-Centered Worldview

Such is part of the real, not a mystically imagined, order of nature – focusing on what is connective, conscious, and life-enhancing. This picture of a universe re-understood using life- rather than death- centered principles represents a revolutionary and rescuing global mind change.

American Indian View of Nature

(Healingtalks) The cosmology of many American Indians is filled solely with images of plants and animals because they had a living vision of the essence of nature. We have instead moved instead to a dead, machine-like, mechanical vision of nature.

This impacts every aspect of our lives…. especially our foods.

Living foods with enzymes

I have the great respect for Ann Wigmore, one of the founders of the raw food movement. One of the things she advocated was that we should eat living foods primarily for their  life-enhancing enzymes. These enzymes aide digestion. They also speed up countless chemical reactions in the body. If you heat a food over 11o degrees or more, the enzymes tend to die.

There is life in our foods symbolized by enzymes but also permeating throughout, as long as raw foods are not heated to high temperatures. If you roast an almond and plant it in the ground, for example, it will not grow an almond tree.

Not Reducible to Math/Mechanical Explanations

It has been my philosophy of life that life itself is at the core of nature, making up the interior essence of the world we live in – an essence brought out by living things. The conventional philosophy of nature’s essence is that it is mathematical, an essence brought out or displayed by the invention of machine. But to me math symbols are not infallible tools to discover nature’s essence. To me this is the most powerful of misguiding visions. Why? Because they simply put, symbols are pointing tools and math symbols point to universal relationships of separation in our consciousness. We cannot best connect a vision when point to patterns of separation in nature. The number one is the universal separate whole. Count three apples and then make apple sauce with them. Afterwards you can no longer count them because they are not any longer separate.

Math-designed things, like machines, tend to be dead

This because at the core of life is consciousness. What is that consciousness? For me it is a universal relationship of connection. I am conscious of something means I connect with it. But math symbols point oppositely! They thus would have the bias of pointing us away from what is life!

Chemical analysis (reducing nature to mathematics) will tell us there is no difference between a dead roasted almond… and a living non-roasted almond.

They just have the same potassium, calcium, magnesium and so on – and we are supposed to believe that that is all there is to nature.

A Life-Centered Understanding

There is a different way of looking at things, including the food we eat.

When we cut any whole food apart , some aliveness is thus lost. This is again because life is the concentrated presence of a conscious, thus whole organism, plant or animal.

Ultimately it is HUGE intellectual mistake to reduce life thus to mechanical (separate machine part-like or math-like) principles – the very principles whose universalization now threaten life on our planet. It is not accidental that Alzheimer’s patients routinely walk the halls of nursing homes like zombies after being given multiple synthetic chemical drugs that are math-designed.

Oh but some a new chemical cure is just around the corner to heal Alzheimer’s disease! Thus we fool ourselves into believing, following the modern ideology of nature. Actually we need a more enlightened understanding to uplift those who have fallen, including the Nobel Prize winning physicists and chemists who have died with Alzheimer’s disease. That fact, in itself, is very telling.

Why Consider Turning to a Raw Living Food Lifestyle

We need to bring out the living forces back out of their bodies’ consciousness. A living food diet is a royal means to enliven life.

I have great respect for Ann Wigmore, one of the founders of the raw food movement. Among the things she advocated was that we should eat a living foods diet primarily for their  life-enhancing enzymes. Get your daily dose of enzymes was the rallying cry. These enzymes aide digestion. They also speed up countless chemical reactions in our body. If you heat a food over 110 degrees, most of the enzymes tend to die.

Here I will argue that what is “life” in our food is not reducible to any chemical formula of elements, reactions, principles or enhancers. The reason why is explained below.

Not reducible to what’s math-defined

In my opinion and contrary to what we are all taught, math symbols are not infallible and objective tools for discovering the core essence of nature  – which represents a 17th century ideology that has fervently taken root . Why?

This is simply because math symbols  point (all symbols are but pointing tools) to universal relationships of separation in our consciousness. When we count two objects they must be separate to be able to count them. However, we cannot effectively connect a vision of nature with these penultimate symbols of separation because that represents a cosmic-in-scope contradiction. It is a contradiction at the core of our vision of nature.

Illogical vision of nature

It is absolutely not logical or logically possible. It is not a wise vision as a result – and universal acceptance and teaching of that vision doesn’t make it wise or true. It just shows how foolish we remain.  It shows how absorbed we are in a cultural illusion that is thousands of years old. The math-bound vision is no doubt profoundly powerful for technological constructs, but on a deeper level is, in my opinion, a very failed and failing view of nature’s core. Now imagine that the essence of what indeed forms “life” in nature is the presence of what we experience every day as consciousness – and that consciousness rather forms this universal connective relationship in nature. It is what subliminally math-bound philosophers sought to discover, but with the wrong symbolism,  Math symbols are a poor choice for this purpose because they abstract consciousness separations.

What I am trying to convey, to those whose minds are not closed to new and paradigm-busting ideas, is that our dominant vision of a nature’s essence is a false view (as to nature’s depths and not its surface appearance). It is also a hazardous cultural construct. The fruits of that construct, in my experience, ultimately harm nature’s essence in ourselves and around us. I know these are shocking statements and either I am completely whacked out (as some will believe), or as a former math prodigy I am trying to convey something much more advanced – whether the general public is as yet ready to hear it or not.  In fact, our whole ideological focus in the modern world about nature ‘s essence is really clashing and threatening to unravel the whole web of life.

Polluting reality manifests from inside to outside

Again this is precisely what is happening in our modern world, and many of my blog posts go into details. The global and growing pollution of our soil, air, water, food supply, interior fluids – all within just a hundred years of the mass application of this vision – is the mounting reality-evidence. Something is obviously going very wrong and we must stop thinking that we are just victims when in fact we are the real creators of what we reap.

What to do and not to do with mathematics

So imagine that math symbols should not be used to form a dominant guide to our consciousness of nature but rather subserviently – that is subservient to an integrally connective (right-brain-dominant) orientation to all of nature. It is again impossible to have an integrally connective or integrally conscious view using the most separative of all symbols as revered inner idols or symbolic God-like guides. For example, let us take the use of a phone number in daily life. It helps us to target (separate-out), focus towards, tag or find someone to then connect with them. This is different than using math symbols in the more dominantly “separative ways” – which physics and chemistry routinely and supremely masters.  An extreme result – virtually predictable as the materialization of Descartes’ 17th century vision,  is the designing and bringing into being of atomic or nuclear weapons.

What we visualize inside of us we then “materialize” or create in the outer world.

Underlying the formulas of Dr. Fehmi for creating atomic bombs were Cartesian coordinates – the radical mathematization or separation (and therefore explosion) of space.

Another consequence is the growing pollution and harm to all of life on earth due to the proliferation of what has been math-designed or brought-into-being synthetic chemicals. Of course we are taught that following the math-bound trail is just a matter of objectivity rather than ideology. It supposedly liberates us to discover nature’s “true objective” laws and we look then at the creation of math-designed, mechanical technologies as undeniable proof.  But let us look instead at all of nature, mechanical and non-mechanical, including the overall impact on life!

Mechanical philosophy of nature’s impact on life

To test the underlying entirely of the math-stuck view (rather than one chemical in isolation so as to later market a profitable product) let us take a very random and large mix of chemicals to test the whole of the philosophy/ideology of chemistry and throw them into a living environment (such as a garden or compost heap) and what happens?

All of life, yes all of life dies and for a predictable, knowable and even stupidly obvious reasons.

The underlying order, the mathematical, clashes with the very essence of what is life and consciousness in nature. That is why life considers anything mechanical as anathema. We innately hate doing mechanical chores or creations. We loath working in mechanical, assembly-line factories if indeed we have a choice about it.

Organic life

Math-designed things are usually made of separate parts (interchangeable machine parts).  Organic life does not function in a mechanical or separate-parts way. Life operates on opposite principles and thus violates everyone one of Newton’s mechanical, so-called universal laws of nature. Cut a living organism apart and try to put the pieces of an organism back together (like a machine) and the living organism dies! Progressively apply such principles and species all over the planet begin to become extinct.

What organizes a machine (principles that are mechanical/mathematical/unconscious/separative) and what organizes a living things(principles that re non-mechanical, non-mathematical, non-separative) is very much not the same – and to reduce one to the other can be and is devastating to nature. In fact the two core principles are exact polar opposites. Exact polar opposites! To again force the world of nature to fit the mechanical model is pretty insanely stupid and yet commonplace. It is worse than stupid. It is essentially unconscious, especially of what are headed towards globally. It has disastrous consequences both within our being and without in our environment. A “within consequence” is growing consciousness ailments like cancer, diabetes and Alzheimer’s all going rampant.

A root vision of nature  that so very foolishly is bond to a dangerous vision undercuts our collective evolution. If we only understand the machine-like order in nature, rather than life and consciousness, there has to be huge consequences. Ultimately a vision of nature whose essence is in direct opposition to the core principles of life will undermine, destroy, or annihilate life – and the compost heap is a microcosm of the potential macro-effect. This again is exactly what is, in my understanding, happening in our very, very challenged world. This is why we have a reacting environmental movement. This is why we have a reacting  natural healing movement.

Again this is why we are experiencing alarming extinction rates that are unprecedented and in every corner of the planet.

Consciousness at the Root of Life

There are profoundly and deep reasons why all of this is happening non-accidentally. Consciousness, at the root of life, forms a distinctly and potentially universal relationship of connection. This is again the exact opposite of what math principles point to via the culturally-learned doctrines of physics, chemistry, and biotechnology of our times.

Living Organisms

Living organisms bring out of nature its life and consciousness. Machines bring out an opposite order of dead and unconsciousness. Machines rather model the mathematical perspective or represent its bias-ideology creations.  The two can compliment each other, but not when the math-bound view is dominant. What is most separative has the potential to destroy what is most connective in nature, life.  When we thus cut any whole food or living thing apart , aliveness and consciousness is lost. For that reason it is a HUGE and bungling intellectual goof to reduce life to just mechanical principles as physics and chemistry, and more recently biotechnology does. These are the very principles whose universal applications are again what is most threatening life on earth.

Detoxing the Inner World

It is not accidental, for example, that Alzheimer’s patients (those who receive multiple drugs that are math-designed) routinely walk the halls of nursing homes like unconscious, consciousness-depleted zombies. We are told that some new chemical wonder cure is just around the corner!  We really fool ourselves tremendously in believing this, derivative of the same core ideology of nature, underlying allopathic medicine.  We need a completely different, more enlightened understanding of nature and guidance for the healing of ourselves. We need to know exactly how to raise the consciousness of those who have fallen – and ingesting math-designed pills will predictably lower, damage, or expunge consciousness.

Detoxification is more in order, taking out and not putting in synthetic chemicals. Tell that to the chief physician at a nursing home! More importantly we need to crow-bar ourselves out of the  entrenched and underlying root ideology that creates all such a vast mismanagement of the healing processes of life. When also our inner visions are detoxed and healed, then physical healing will manifest more integrally – and surface manifestations of pollution will disappear in tandem.

The deeper pollution is always in our mind’s visions, understanding,  spirits, souls, or consciousness. It is the non-physical pollution of awareness within that creates the surface manifestations.

Why Turn to a Raw Living Foods Diet to Heal

As part of a revolutionary life-centered vision of nature we can thus turn to some new means to bring living forces out of latency in our bodies. We also want to bring life out of  nature’s bosom all around us as well. One way to do this within, or for ourselves, is via learning to adopt a  living and whole-organic food diet. It is a royal and wonderful and reliable means to heal.

With due respects to Ann Wigmore, this offers a  non-reductionist and a life and consciousness-centered reason for adopting the raw or living food lifestyle.

Enzymes speed chemical reactions. Tying this chemical perspective to the chief rationale for adopting a living foods diet is a huge mistake that is part of the larger insanity of look at the cosmos mechanically. This is similar to explaining why the same raw food diet reverses diabetes due to enhancing genetic expressions. The gene model is actually at the heart of the mechanical worldview applied to biology or to all of life’s organic manifestations.

Conclusion

We turn to the raw food diet in order to elicit life and consciousness, and thus connective healing.

(Healingtalks) You might argue that the ability to produce and control fire is one of the hallmarks of human achievement. This applies to certain fields like mining where we melt down metals to form, for example, forks and knives. But fire can also burn a building down and so it has mixed effects.

Use of fire for our foods

The same applies to the use of fire in relationship to our foods. Fire can be used to soften the outer hardness of some foods to make them more digestible. We do this with root vegetables and with hard-skinned vegetables like artichokes. They are most often cooked before eating. But excess heat will also devitalize foods.   Heating food over somewhere between 110-120 or more degrees will harm enzymes and thus devalue the total nutritional value of a meal as a whole.

Alternative way of heating foods

An alternative way of heating is to use a dehydrator that is preset to a lower temperature. Even tubers, like potatoes, can be prepared for the dehydrator by grating, blending, and other means that do not involve cooking at high temperatures.

What’s the living food diet is all about

The living food diet is all about maximizing the same enzyme intakes or living forces.These natural elements assist the body in catalyzing what is necessary for many body functions, including the digestion and absorption of nutrients. As we get older, our bodies produce less and less enzymes so we need to take them in from outside sources to maintain our body’s vitality.

Chosing raw organic living foods at the supermarket

(Healingtalks) On a trip to the supermarket, we can observe what is commonly found in other people’s shopping carts.  Fresh produce items are often not that prominent but rather  processed convenience foods. Actually close to 90% of all supermarket items are either genetically modified or chemically processed and preserved.

Junk food in the supermarket

Junk-food ingredients include what is artificially lab produced or grown in depleted soils.  A good idea is to simply avoid the middle aisles of your supermarket as much as possible and head straight for the produce. David Wolfe, a health expert, says we really live in the midst of a nutritional holocaust. Is it any wonder, for example, that we have a skyrocketing epidemic of obesity and diabetes?

What happens with a diabetic is that the cell walls throughout the body lose their aliveness and can no longer consciously recognize insulin and protein carriers.

The insulin especially stays in the bloodstream to then do harm. Those cell walls are made primarily of fat. When all the fat we eat is deadened and saturated (or hardened), then those cell walls become deadened, hardened and unconscious.

So when you get home with all those raw organic living foods,  why not look up some GREAT raw food recipes. They will inspire you to keep buying only the very best of raw organic and living ingredients. Then  you can create what will satisfy your taste buds and keep you supremely healthy at the same time

So seriously consider going raw WITH A BANG!

If the bill gets a little high, I might consider balancing your shopping cart with less expensive foods or going on a juice fast one day a week. Lentils are usually a dollar or two a pound and when sprouted they increase 3x in size – so you get your protein for pennies on the dollar!  Or I might look for produce at the farmer’s market with lower prices. There is really no excuse. Remember, get the best . YOU DESERVE IT!
