Breaking News: Massive Spinach Recall Across 39 Major States
Organic Food Recalls by the US Government
While the FDA and EPA allow tens of thousands of chemicals to pollute our environment and our bodies, monitoring a tiny fraction, ignoring the devastating harm to hundreds of millions of Americans, it rather targets organic food producers who may be implicated in a handful of deaths due to e-coli or similar poisoning. Apparently these the greatest of threats affecting our nation. Vast publicity, highlighting harmed children is common while there is virtual silence about the epidemic of cancer that nearly affects 1 out of 2 Americans in their lifetime. All of this meant to harm the organic foods industry while helping grow Big Chem, Big Pharma and biotech companies.
Recent Recall with Taylor Farms
One such recent case is with Taylor Farms Retail Inc.which produces Organic Baby Spinach. The recall trigger was a possible contaminants from Enterohemorrhagic E. coli. This is a bacteria that may cause abdominal cramps, vomiting and/or diarrhea. In some extreme cases, EHEC may also lead to Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome. This disease could cause kidney failure in extreme and rare cases as well as problems with the nervous system. The organic spinach recalled is being marketed and sold in 39 states, including Hawaii and Alaska. The spinach that has been recalled is in both 5-oz and 16-oz packages. Organic brands of the company include Full Circle Organics, Central Market, Simple Truth Organics, and Marketside Organics. The affected spinach packages have an expiration date of February 24th so they will disappear from shelves by that date, in any event. The voluntary recall was only a precautionary measure.
