Harvard study links pasteurized milk to cancer
(Healingtalks) Our raw and living food movement, with over 50 years of clinical experience, has taught something that common sense would make us intuit or guess – namely that high-heat deadened foods are transformed into devitalized and denatured nutrition, and that by this means we cannot build the healthiest of living tissues therewith. We rather create disease.
Ultimately we are alive organisms and not dead machines. But chemically preserved and otherwise “fixated” foods (made lifeless, stone-like dead, so as to prevent them from decaying) hold their rigid dollar value better. Another way to put this is that they increase shelf life. So the reasons why milk and so many other drinks are pasteurized is ultimately more about economics than health. It comes to no surprise then that the industry is lying to us about health benefits of pasteurization, when such foods are more logically health degenerating.
Factory farm milk found relatively filthy
In this light there is a new study out by Harvard University that shows drinking pasteurized milk from factory farms is clearly associated with certain “hormone-dependent cancers.” Concentrated animal feeding operations (CAFO) seem to develop, like most factory farms, various and dangerous compounds in the animals. With milk production in dairy cows, this includes high levels of estrone sulfate linked to testicular, prostate, and breast cancers.
The study by Dr. Ganmaa Davaasambuu, Ph.D and his group of researchers shows that milk from modern factory-farm dairy operations where cows are milked 300 days of the year, uo to 33 times more estrone sulfate than coews raised in her native Mongolia (milked only during the first six months after giving birth).
Cancer and arthritis link with pasteurized milk
Dr. Davaasambuu and her colleagues identified a clear link between drinking high-hormone milk and certain cancers. Contrary to what the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), the FDA and the milk lobby wants us to believe, mass processed milk which requires pasteurization is a significantly inferior product harboring not minor, but major health risk. This is why here in rural upstate NY where the dairy industry has a vital presence, so many aged dairy farmers suffer also from arthritis. The calcium in pasteurized milk is denatured. And that is just the tip of the iceberg.
“The milk we drink today is quite unlike the milk our ancestors were drinking” says Dr. Davaasambuu. “The milk we drink today may not be nature’s perfect food.”
Bigger than big lies fostered on the public
The 2012 Farm Bill further encourages factory farming and genetically modified foods, the most degraded forms of our industrialized food production. The bill also outlaws “component pricing” for milk, which involves allowing farmers to sell milk with higher protein and butterfat at a higher price (achieved by giving cows better living conditions). To appease Big Ag, our government wants to standardize milk production, and in the process allow sick cows to provide dirty milk to millions and thus producing sick America, a boom for Big Pharma. What a outrageous circle of profit making.
