KONY 2012 – a play for African oil resources

KONY 2012 invade Africa

(Healing Talks) On March 5th, 2012 KONY 2012 campaign, led by Invisible Children INC. launched an all-too professionally produced documentary film. This video quickly became viral and to the point that it reached nearly 100 million visits. The film focuses on demanding that Joseph Kony, a Ugandan rebel leader of the Lord’s Resistance Army, be captured and arrested for war crimes that have involved thousands of children being used as soldiers and sex slaves.

KONY 2012 campaign

More about the video.

In the film, a grassroots movement is portrayed and where the viewer is encouraged to join that movement, taking a stand to support the search for and capture of Joseph Kony as an ultimate international war criminal.

As quoted directly from the video:

“…Because now, we know what to do. Here it is. In order for Kony to be arrested this year, the Ugandan Military has to find him. In order to find him, they need the technology and training to track him in the vast jungle. That’s where the American advisers come in. But in order for the American advisers to be there, the US military has to deploy them. They’ve done that, but if the government doesn’t believe the people care about arresting Kony, the mission will be cancelled. In order for the people to care, they have to know. And they will only know if Kony’s name is everywhere….”

What’s interesting is that Kony hasn’t been active since 2006 and he was last believed to be in hiding in Congo or Sudan. Many even believe that Kony is dead. What’s even more interesting is that the LRA, according to governmental reports, consists of a mere 200 ‘troops’. This is little compared to the thousands that the video claimed.

Oil

 Questions of the day

Why is there such a sudden interest in a possibly dead rebel leader, Joseph Kony? Why is there the soliciting of a highly professional production,  along with casting and Web-distribution of a film, that cost megabucks and to whose benefit? Why also the sudden and coordinated support for that film – the influx of mass-media headline attention, which is usually a tell-tale sign of corporate influence campaign (especially when there is a concerted involvement of all the major whoring mainstream outlets – CNN, Fox, NBC, ABC, CBS and so on.

Many argue that something, of course, doesn’t click, not when this happens out of the blue. There had to be as masterminded effort and that the lust for African oil is the only plausible, real and hidden reason for the film’s making and “surprisingly” coordinated mass media attention.

Oil treasure chest in Uganda

Oil’s presence in Uganda was discovered in 2005. Tullow Oil then planned to pump 200,000 barrels or about a million dollars a day worth. However, Uganda’s political instability, and due in part to the influence of Marxist President Yoweri Museveni and the LRA, slowed down oil production tremendously.

Stopping the interference to oil production

With what appears as a cover for stopping this interference, next came attempts to supposedly stop Kony for war crimes again children. In 2008 thus began   Operation Lightning Thunder, Then in 2010, Barack Obama signed into the law Lord’s Resistance Army Disarmament and Northern Uganda Recovery Act. In October 2011 Obama deployed one hundred U.S. combat troops to central Africa. The focus supposedly was attempts to capture or kill Kony and destroy his rebellion.

Chase Bank – the link between the documentary’s production and oil interests

Follow the money.

The Invisible Children INC. was funded by Chase Bank, the investment banker for Tullow Oil. Now do you get the picture?

Chase Bank “contributed” upwards of $1 million for the production of the KONY 2012 campaign and along with other related programs to supposedly just defeat of Kony for humanitarian reasons.

It can be argued that the film’s goal was to accumulate support of Kony’s capture with the subliminal message its ok to begin American military intervention in Central Africa. It is believed that AFRICOM will soon be planted in Northern Uganda, Kongo, and South Sudan and that Tullow Oil encampments will appear and spread in tandem.

By the way, videos such as Occupy Chase and which show how Chase has aggressively pursued foreclosures that resulted in thousands of children becoming homeless (and where the reaction was militant police violence arresting the protestors) have gotten only a few thousand hits, and virtually no mass media attention at all!

You can guess why. It is telling about how the major mass media and mainstream press really work as propaganda outlets for  the corporate interests that fund most of their advertising revenues.

Invisible Children

It can be noted that Invisible Children may be a legitimate charity. But it is likewise a fact that Invisible Children made this documentary with oil companies-related support and that this promotes the accepting of US and world military intervention in Uganda to aide the proliferation of precisely oil companies’ vested interests.

Two weeks after releasing the film, Jason Russell went beserk on the streets of San Diego and had to be hospitalized. Was he having pangs of conscience about making Kony 2012?
