Fluoride Damages Brain
(Healingtalks) A large number of studies have pointed to the dangers of ingesting fluoride as they impact our brain and nervous system.
Valdez-Dimenez, et. al. Study – “The prolonged ingestion of fluoride may cause significant damage to health and particularly to the nervous system,” according to researchers Valdez-Jimenez, et al. published in Neurologia (June 2011). The researchers further stated that we should even avoid toothpaste with fluoride, particularly for children. They noted that fluoride can be toxic in as little as one part per million (ppm) (the level used in water fluoridation) though the effects are delayed as the toxin bio-accumulates. This can take up to 20 years to show up.This study showed how fluoride causes damage to the developing, learning and memory. Fluoride crosses the blood-brain barrier and begins to accumulate at birth. Animal studies show fluoride’s effects mimic that of patients with dementia.
To support their findings, Pail Beeber, President of the NY State Coalition Opposed to Fluoridation says “We can actually see how fluoride has damaged children’s teeth with dental fluorosis; but we can’t see the harm it’s doing to their brains and other organs. No U.S. researcher is even looking.”
Tang et al. – This study found a strong link to fluoride and lower IQ. (2)
U.S. National Research Council’s (NRC) – Their expert panel reviewed fluoride toxicology and came to the following conclusion – “It’s apparent that fluorides have the ability to interfere with the functions of the brain.” They added that “Fluorides also increase the production of free radicals in the brain through several different biological pathways. These changes have a bearing on the possibility that fluorides act to increase the risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease.” (3)
Time Magazine – In 2010 they listed fluoride as one of the “Top Ten Common Household Toxins” and described fluoride as both “neurotoxic and potentially tumorigenic if swallowed.” (4)
Phyllis Mullenix, Ph.D. – the first U.S. scientist to show that fluoride caused brain damage. After she published her animal study findings in a respected journal in 1995 (5) shew was fired for doing so.(6)
