A NEW SILENT SPRING – LIFE ON EARTH DYING YET MORE EN MASSE
The ‘control of nature’ is a phrase conceived in arrogance, born of Neanderthal age of biology and philosophy, when it was supposed that nature exists for the convenience of man. The concepts and practices of applied entomology for the most part date from the Stone Age of science. It is our alarming misfortune that so primitive a science had armed itself with the most modern and terrible weapons…turned them against the earth”
Rachel Carson Silent Spring
The above quote from the last and summary paragraph of Rachel Carson’s Silent Spring. This quote has reverberated in my mind now for nearly half a century.
If we look back at what has happened since Carson wrote those insightful words and to the current state of our planet, conditions are now decidedly worse.
Pesticide production levels to kill insects (to suit “the practices of applied entomology”) currently are several times greater than in Rachel Carson’s era. At the same time it has become common knowledge that about one fourth of all species on earth, plant and animal, are threatened with extinction in this century.
Still more recently, incidences of thousands of birds and over a hundred thousand fish have been seen suddenly dying en masse, and with the birds literally falling out of the sky. In the past four years, about a third of honey bee colonies have suddenly been dying. Is all of this symbolic of things yet worse to come?
As Natural News recently reported a little over a week ago, nearly 100,000 fish washed up on the shores of the Arkansas River, dead.
Also in Arkansas, thousands of red-winged blackbirds fell from the sky and plummeted to the ground where they were also found dead. The scene repeated itself in Southern Louisiana where 500 red-winged blackbirds recently plunged out of the sky, dead on arrival.
In the Chesapeake Bay, thousands of dead fish have also begun washing up onto bay shores.
Natural News has also published a most incredible time line of what has happened in just the past month. Below is the list.
Not that similar to the multiple explanations for why bee colony collapse disorder is happening, there are now several different theories for such more recent events as well. Ours is singular.
All of this is a more advanced manifestation of the deeper and deeper as well as wider and wider dissemination of the math-based, mechanical vision of nature, the 17 century’s pet theory falsely elevated to become our age’s unchallengeable truth, and which actually brings out death rather than life principles from nature’s bosom.
This is because math symbols abstract the global means to separate all elements of consciousness. You cannot count three apples that make applesauce or where the apples are no longer separate. It is our insight that at the core of nature’s life is actually consciousness and that consciousness forms the polar opposite universal principle of connection in all of nature.
What this implies is that the further and deeper we apply our mechanical math-based vision of nature (via chemical and bioengineering products leading the way) the more, and predictably, we will see a global, wholesale, and ever greater planetary death of nature.
And this will continue ad infinitum, as the blackest fruits of our own worldview (unless we blow ourselves up using atomic weapons, another “great” invention of that vision) or else until we wake up from this most pitch black darkness of our most core modern dream of reason.
With that said and hopefully taken to heart, here is the updated list of events, of how animals have been found dying en masse and through just January 14, 2011, in reverse date order:
