(Healingtalks) Who has not seen all those hugely deceptive TV ads with absolutely glowing and smiling actors trying to sell the general public on daily drug use?

The real truths is that most drugs have major toxic “side-effects” and that they can devastate lives. They have, in fact, put out the shinning light of countless celebrities – as well as the inner light of ordinary people we all know, including neighbors and family members.

Most of what is touted about the effectiveness of modern drugs is actually outright and downright lies, and for which the fake TV ads are but a symbol.

Lies piles upon lies

Here is how the vast lying process works. The drug companies create their own

• Unregulated drug testing
• Drug companies test isolates – They look at individual symptoms which are suppressed, and often using highly toxic substances
• These tests tend to ignore all other symptoms or effects – Everything but the isolated focus is called an insignificant “side-effect – like cancer, heart disease and even death

When you isolate or separate out an effect in a large disease complex, you fundamentally bias or “partialize” all scientific consciousness! You just look at what you chose to look at (usually with a profit motive in mind) – as in a drug that only relieves pain but does not really heal everything else. This suppression is a form of patient deception. You then should not be allowed to cover over or hide this fundamental fact – namely that your scientific viewpoint is biased. The coverup is done by spending millions on researching and then getting a government approval. The bottom line is that your view point remains biased and unscientific. So wake up America and the world to the fact that the vast majority of modern drug testing, and by its very nature, is meant to culturally and marketplace deceive. Only when dealing with machines made of separate parts can we objectively use a separative approach to knowledge. There are exceptions, but that is another discussion.

Usually the study of isolates misleads us when trying to heal living organisms because there is a holistic principle of life and consciousness that reigns, and as discussed below. Thus lies are piled up upon lies to deeply fool the general public and  to fool even the medical establishment in their medical education financed by pharmaceutical giants. This ultimately results in an estimate 200,o000 deaths a year in the US alone from prescribed drug use (and many millions worldwide).

It includes so many stellar and creative human beings we call our beloved celebrities.

 Compost heap test

If you want  REAL objective testing of the overall effectiveness or impact of drugs, one has to look at the WHOLE impact, and again not looking at chemical drug isolates.

Thus  if we take a large random mix of lab-isolated chemicals (to test the WHOLE underlying order of drugs, of chemistry) and throw them into a compost heap, what changes in the heap? Is the change minor or major? And why should we use a compost heap to begin with, and as our “natural testing laboratory” for this purpose? This is because a conventional sterile lab is where all the major tools of measurement (ruler, scale, micrometer, etc) are all brought together to self-prove the 17th century’s math-based vision of nature. It is the math-biased home-turf of that vision (something we are not taught, rather viewing the lab as a universally objective environment for discovering the laws of nature).  So here, with the compost heap as a living laboratory, we find that plants decay to create the building materials for all other plants. This represents a universal unifying order of plant-living nature.

What is the impact or result of this test?

What is impact of now invading that living terrain with synthetic chemicals?

What does a large random mix of pharmaceutical and other lab-created chemicals result in?

All of life therein dies

The highly symbolic order of unity of the compost heap is more than just broken or tarnished or negatively impacted. It is utterly destroyed and devastated. It is entirely undermined. The heap becomes dead, barren, life-less, wasted, supertoxic. All life therein dies.

Guess what?  The same can happen inside our bodies and to all our cells.

Isn’t that obvious?

And we might importantly ask why does this happen?

Faulty core and taproot cultural vision

The 17th century introduced into our global culture the seemingly acceptable notion, which is ultimately and actually somewhat culturally insane (and where the chief proponent of this vision, Sir Isaac Newton, died literally insane)  – namely that all of nature is ultimately math-based, math-ruled and mechanical. Why might this most revered view of science be flawed? The problem with this seemingly advanced and most intelligent (highest left-brain) view, and which produced our modern chemicals, drugs, and industrial revolution, is that mathematics represents the ultimate abstractions for how to “separate all elements of consciousness.” How can we explain the meaning of this in plain English? For example, in counting three apples when the apples are separated we indeed can indeed count them. But we cannot count them if we now make applesauce or blend them together.

We also cannot best connect a vision of nature cosmically by universally separating it mathematically in our consciousness. What results is rather a shocking disintegration of consciousness within.  Where does this manifest the most? Externally there is a devastation of the healing arts, leaving those arts in a shambles unable to stop health epidemics, and where objectivity in understanding healing, and in stopping environmental devastation, is lost.

Healing is about universal connection.

Consciousness itself is a universal relationship of connection in nature, underlying the essence of life. Thus the math-based vision, applied to the healing arts, has predictably disastrous consequences. The whole vision works superficially, with relatively rare emergency applications (treating superficial symptoms immediately, at the surface of time). But such dramatic rescues with drugs is exactly what fools us about wider, deeper and universal applications. When the vision is indeed driven deep, and into our bodies as symbolized by taking drugs into our depth interiors and via IVs into our veins, the results are eventually similar to those of a super-toxic waste sites creating cancer cells. There is an ultimate and looming shadowy death of species with global chemical pollution. The web of life on earth becomes threatened. Here the understanding  is that this happens precisely because the essence of a math-based vision of nature driven deeply and universally into the fabric of nature and ourselves will  go loggerheads with polar opposite essence of life and consciousness – or universal separation is imposed upon universal connection.

What happens when ….

What happens when the skin of a living organism is cut? It cries out in pain because its life and consciousness is hurt. The inner wholeness is cut apart. When a universal vision captures the universal principles of cutting, of separation, that vision ultimately will and cannot but destroy all of life.

The wholesale death of bee colonies is just a recent dire warning sign, like canaries in a mine, and about what the human race could soon be facing if we do not wake up from our deep cultural delusions and inner sleep.

Global Mind Change Solution

The wake up solution here is not really complicated. We do not need half of the US population on regular toxic and addictive meds (never truly healing as  Big Pharma becomes rich). This is but a testimony to how powerful the deceptions of consciousness have culturally become, and since largely the 1950′s when TV technologies were invented.

Symbolic also thereof is nursing home patients on multiple drugs who walk the nursing home halls like zombies.

We thus need a new awakening. We need what may be called a global mind change.

This is a moving away from the hugely archaic, terribly outdated and poorly conceived 17th century vision of nature, what is failing abysmally in the healing arts, and not leading to progress but to where we truly are.  Because allopathic physicians are in harmony with that distorting but dominant vision,  they represent not just the majority but literally 99% of licensed “health” practitioners, and naturopaths only 1%.

Only via a global mind change can we reverse those percentages.

So much of what is happening in our tumultuous world…..from earthquakes, river floodings and tzunamis, to the overturning governments in the Middle East and our own Occupy Wall Street movement…..is unsettling.

My dad left Germany in the 1940′s just before its collapse, and after reading Hitler’s Mein Kampf he saw the writing on the wall.

When any person decides to become say…. an astronaut, football player, musician, actor or actress or whatever…. common sense tells us that their key decisions in life were made from deep inside, after some soul-searching along with the influences of  family, friends, teachers and their environment to then shape their lives. However, we don’t often think that way about what shapes the course of civilizations.

Perhaps this is because we don’t take serious the motto that ‘changes happen from the inside out.”

The dominant “religion” or highest set of truths for all the why and how things happen in our world is apparently physics and chemistry. They offers a mechanical explanation of the why and how of things or how  “changes happen from the outside in” …like a billiard balls might mechanically touch the outside surface of another after colliding to then move a ball in a certain direction.

Let’s assume the prior motto is true… the inside out one…and even for the collective or group consciousness. Then let us ask what is it on the inside view of modern civilization that is leading or misleading us to our demise.

What Most Sets of the Course of Civilizations From the Inside Out

Like the personal choice of a career, where to live, and whether to raise a family or not, the answer for the collective society might lie in something else – the core of the core of our vision of nature.

Why?

Because these visions tend to have certain beliefs that function as “central paradigms“  – some core view that connects the whole of understanding – the whole course of life – much like the center of a flower connects all the pedals in all directions.

Do we have such a central paradigm… a core of cores…. a ‘soul” to our modern worldview?

The answer is a resounding yes. Central paradigms give integrity to a vision and usually present.

The dominant culture-wide adoption of this particular central paradigm – taking root in the collective inner subconsciousness – occurred dramatically in the 17th century – and it is this process that has set us on our present course toward a precipice, to our own self-created demise and the destruction of nature around us.

A Global Mind Change in the 17th Century

Western civilization actually changed course from having a prior central paradigm or cultural soul.  It experienced what is called a global mind change.

It shifted radically to a new overall path during the 17^th century.

This was from the medieval, biblical or religious-led culture whose highest truth and/or central paradigm was revelations through the Bible to one a new reliance on the truths of astronomy, physics, chemistry, and related sciences. Did these sciences have a single common central paradigm that unified their separate discipline understandings as one?

They did.

It was the mathematical understanding of the universe or as Sir Isaac Newton expressed it in Latin the “principia naturalis mathematica.”

The vision also later developed its first duality, matter and energy, which E=mc2 attempted to reunite as one, mathematically of course. Its understanding focused around the atom, which in ancient Greek meant the indivisible 1, because mathematics is built up on integers with 1/1=1, or with 1 being indivisible. Thus nature’s building blocks had to be the same as those of symbolic mathematics. This was the new faith adopting by some in ancient Greece and which again came to cultural prominence and dominance in the 17th century.  That vision evolved, flowered and began to bear fruit in the 19-21st centuries.

This new highest, supposedly truest vision also led us onto the path of the Industrial Revolution and found a wecoming home in our modern commercial and technologically-driven world, departing again from the medieval, biblical God-centered view.

Mapping Out a New Course of Civilization From the Inside Out

How did the new understanding determine an overall course?

Well, the 17^th century was so extremely excited, self-assured and enamored by what they discovered  (and fueled by the Enlightenment belief that man,  under the direction of God, was destined to rule over all of nature and on a road of ever rising human progress) that objectivity went out the window.  Consciousness was not put above the mathematical view, rather the contents of consciousness were judged mathematically. Anything that couldn’t find precise math-correspondence wasn’t really real!

But sorry to inform my scientific friends, in my opinion physicists, chemists, allopathic doctors, and economists – all applying the symbols of mathematics in a dominant, central paradigm way – failed to truly see what they were doing in and to their consciousness. Even less did they have any sense of what they were about to do to the outer world “from the inside out.”

Stripping Naked the Illusions of a Mathematical Cosmos

There are four important things we need to know about the mathematical vision of nature, leading or misleading us on our present paths toward multi-dimentional self-destruction.

• Demythologzied – Stripped naked – and with consciousness placed above the mathematizing process,  first math symbols are simply mental symbols not something given to us by God to man in order to understand to the world.  It’s hard to imagine these days now this happened but the 17th century philosophers who promoted this view (resurrecting beliefs from the Golden Age of Greece) were devout Christians. It was according to Newton, that not only was the atom the indivisible one, like 1/1=1 and where numbers were the building blocks of nature but, to quote Newton, where “the atom was what God had made One on the first day of Creation.” This was a belief-directed vision that then took on the mantle of supposedly being objective or ‘scientific.”
• Universal Separation Symbols – What really is going on is that math symbols, being symbols or pointing tools for our minds, point abstractly or universally to how to separate all elements of consciousness. To separate universally is to most deeply and fully disintegrate. It is to map the course of things falling apart! Universal symbols of separation offer a misguidance.  If  everyone understood this, no one would adopt a math-based vision of nature – whose impact now is engulfing us because it is indeed being universally and deeply applied -  again from the inside out.
• Illogical and Irrational – It is impossible to best connect a vision, any vision let alone that of all of nature, by systematically and universally separating all of our consciousness of nature. This is why the vision is fails and cannot but fail us.  We glorify the Einstein’s of our times, while several Nobel-Prize-winning physicists have come down with Alzheimer’s disease. This is because the mathematical vision needs to be demythologized. It cannot integrally point to a deep and real understanding of the nature of our consciousness, nor of the depth essence of our world.  It is rather an illogical and irrational vision, one whose misguidance is powerfully dangerous.  As a final note, one can no better connect a vision of nature using the very highest (meaning the most universal) abstractions of separation than one can glue things together with one’s most high powered chainsaw.
• Machines Never Once  Occur  in Pristine Nature – Go to any forest, desert, ocean or mountain peak and you will never ever – not once – find a single machine in pristine terrains (human-untouched), not even a simple bicycle, unless planted there by man and as a biproduct of his internal math-led vision. It is man’s hubris that creates these unnatural creations to have power over nature, supposedly.  How can what never once occurs be the model for what everywhere and always occurs throughout our cosmos. It takes a certain insanity to believe that. Well, welcome to the modern world‘s insanity taken to be ultimate sanity. Its the same modern world where chemicals that cause cancer and yet are postured and used to supposedly cure cancer. Never mind that they fail 98+ percent of the time, as could be predicted. This pays homage to a diehard holding on to a bankrupt vision.Again the vision defies our senses, and logic, though we hypnotically continue to believe. When someday we will wake up from this bad cultural dream, we will see how it has shaped a world falling apart from the inside out. Then we can take responsibility for what we have created to chart a new course.

How to Get Beyond the “Core Religion” of Our Times

Conventional schooling brainwashes us not to question our teacher’s teachings. We compete to get A’s on tests by agreeing with rather than challenging our teacher’s beliefs.

The precepts of our basic sciences are given the aura of highest of high or unchallengeable truths.

We look to the invention of machines  (the ideological correspondence to that vision) for validation.  Don’t you love that Mustang, jet plane or cell phone? We mix up that fact that certain inventions can represent an aspect of nature, but not necessarily its soul.

Have you ever seen a periodic table of elements hung high in a science classroom? And like a religious icon to revere? This is even though it has long been proven by electron microscopes that a) atoms are not at all indivisible and b) the periodic table does not truly represent exact whole numbers of atomic masses!

What we really need is a different core view, something far less ideological and more rational, intelligent, and most of all integral. Then we can look to vision fruits that are not black and rotting.

How can we accomplish this?

I have outlined this in my many discussions and post as a math prodigy turned renegade – and about an alternative life-and -consciousness-centered understanding of our cosmos, and of all of nature.

This is a road map to the reconstruction of all the major paths of modern consciousness.

This re-understanding is the basis for a step higher global mind change.

It is a real turnaround that hopefully others will catch onto, our civilization from the inside out – and for me as the only real way it can effectively have an antidote to what makes modern living turn ill.

Unfortunately it is looming mass sufferings that trigger mass changes. I have seen this especially after I started an alternative cancer treatment center. Making a shift from a  diet of junk foods to quality foods tends to happen after a bout with serious illness or even being at the doorstep of death. We sometimes are not ready to make massive changes until we have suffered greatly or our life is nearly snuffed out.

Fast Forward to the 21^st Century

The signs major change on a societal or cultural level are nevertheless happening. It is both frightening from the suffering end and exciting at the same time from the liberating end.

We are waking up from a bad dream. It is the naive and blinded dream of unending progress fueled by a bankrupt 17th century understanding – and what has led us on this overall course.

Species Dying

We suddenly face an unprecedented, nature-destructive and non-sustainable world where already about 1/4 to 1/2 of all life forms are threatened with extinction.

But our world is falling apart at multiple seams – ecological, health, social, psychological (with an epidemic of mental and consciousness diseases) and political fronts.

And there is the pollution and disruption of our planet to the extent that now the whole eco-sphere of the globe is disturbed,  as with see with global weather crises rising each year in number and intensity.

Where the Clash of Vision and Reality is the Greatest

The arena where the signs of things in shambles are the greatest is the healing arts.

Why? This is because the healing arts involve our deepest connections to wholeness, and to use the most separative symbols to structure all of consciousness, including the healing arts, results in the most grossly anti-healing practices (exposing chronically ill patients to drugs, surgery and radiation) like using the most toxic chemicals that cause cancer to try to reverse cancer!

Like a religion whose faith is waning and falling apart, the faithful priests of that view (allopathic doctors, physicists, chemists, Wall Street traders and economic statisticians) may tend to refuse to face the reality of what is really happening.

It is heretics who may differentiate the shit from the toilet!

Shift in the Making

The exciting part is that we are privileged to see the closing of an era and the birth of a new one.

December, 2012 may be a useful date as some sort of mid-point in the crisis, or perhaps as a trigger date for some further acceleration of society’s rapid unraveling. But make no mistake: We are already living in the collapse of our modern world. And you have a front-row seat! (Exciting, huh?)

Think about what’s happening around you these days. These are the signs of the last, desperate clutches of a civilization built on utterly unsustainable practices that don’t value life on our world. These are the End Times of the corporate oligarchy; the monopolistic for-profit corporation machine that destroyed everything in our world in exchange for a slightly higher quarterly earnings report.

In the quest for more money, humanity has sacrificed its food supply, its pollinators, it’s oceans, forests and soils. Greed-driven humans have used other humans as medical experiments and cannon fodder. We have created wars to sell more bombs, and we’ve invented disease to sell psychiatric chemicals.

These are the practices of a failed civilization… and one whose days are numbered. Watching it all crumble is far more interesting than watching it continue its destructive ways, of course, because those of us paying attention realize a future civilization must rise up in the place of this one after the collapse.

Say goodbye to the false power of institutions

It would be nice if our future leaders remembered the importance of liberty and personal responsibility, of course. The answer to all the world’s problems, it turns out, is freedom — freedom in medicine, freedom in economics and freedom from government tyranny.

Because, let’s face it: The root cause of most these problems that are bringing down our world right now is bad government. It is bad government (Big Government) that approved the GMOs. Bad government enforced the medical monopoly and allowed the pesticides to kill the honeybees. Bad government drove us into inescapable debt and costly foreign wars. Bad government outlawed health freedom and protected the monopolistic practices of the food companies, drug companies and chemical companies.

The downfall of modern human civilization is, as you probably guessed, also the downfall of the very idea that Big Government creates a better society. Because if there’s one idea that needs to stay dead after the collapse, it’s the idea that We the People somehow need another group of people (government workers) to live off our hard work while hounding us with their false authority, directing every little detail of our lives.

What we need in our world isn’t more government, but more freedom. If we had freedom, integrity and personal responsibility, we wouldn’t even be facing the global collapse that has already begun. But alas, the human race is an infant species and it must learn some lessons the hard way, it seems.

This lesson should be long remembered: If you let the corporations, the banks and the governments run your economies, your farms and your lives, they will enslave you and steal your future while you sleep; they will inject silent poisons into the very world around you until you awaken one day to find that all you created has been destroyed. They will promise you paradise but deliver only death. Beware of any entity that is not a living person — no government, no institution, no corporation has a soul, nor a heart, nor a conscience. They are forces of organized destruction that decimate those things we hold dear while delivering to us things that will only enslave us or harm us.

Beware the corporation; the government; the non-profit institution working as a front group for private industry. Never allow yourself to be ruled over by any institution which exists only as a fictional construct organized from the projection of human greed.

And be ready for the acceleration of the collapse. Because if you are reading this, you are the future of the human race. You have a duty to stay alive, keep your genes intact, and be around to help create the Next Society after this one crumbles into history.

ROOT REASON WE’RE MASS DESTROYING LIVING SPECIES ON EARTH

Imagine that a deep understanding of ourselves – what is our life – will help us to stop destroying so many species on earth.

Something in our consciousness doesn’t either recognize, value, honor or nurture life around us. Curiously I believe this has to do with  our advanced bi-brain structure. This is because our right brain (tuned into our holistic consciousness) helps us in “connecting” deeply with the essence of life in nature while our left brain moves us in the opposite or” separating” direction – and with the latter being dominant.

My experience is that what the word “consciousness” points to the essence of life – and consciousness in turn allows us to connect to the world around us and within.  It has also been my insight that when we are in a  more right-brain dominant frame of mind, we again connect with that deeper holistic essence of consciousness; and in a left-brain dominant frame of mind we do not – disconnecting us from the depths of life and connecting us powerfully to the surface appearances. The very highest left brain skill is mathematical – using math symbols to separate all elements of consciousness. At least since the 17th century, we have used a mechanical  (math-0rganized and woven together ) vision of nature to best supposedly understand and relate to the core of nature – and which in my opinion a fundamental and profound mistake.

I am convinced this is the root reason why we are wholesale destroying organic life clear around the planet.

These are the precious creatures that wear the proud and rare “badges of organicity,” of the concentrated presence of consciousness and life within.

Life itself in nature cannot be destroyed – not if it is based on the irreducible and indestructible relationship of connection itself of all of nature which also creates nature’s oneness. That is ultimately untouchable. However specific life forms,  expressing organic life – or sentient beings that have taken literally millions of years to evolve – are being crudely extinguished, exterminated, killed, maimed  or annihilated. They are becoming extinct.

We are like bulls in this china closet of nature.

Humans may themselves soon become threatened species. We are threatened already with the existence and proliferation of atomic weapons. It is thus superficial to “green our lawns” by removing pesticides and herbicides, without greening first our minds or addressing our root inner visions that have made us into killing agents on killing fields.

WHY MODERN MEDICINE FAILS TO HEAL MOST ILLNESSES

Another major signs of things going wrong is a failing medical care system. Currently it is based on using surgery, drugs and radiation to make our bodies “whole.”  You can rarely cut something surgically apart and make it whole. With health epidemics like cancer quite rampant, that health care delivery system is in disarray,  being based on the same root mechanical (not life and consciousness-based)vision of nature. We thus fail to reverse several major chronic systemic illness. We rather poison ourselves with chemical drugs to make profits for Big Pharma. We especially see growing consciousness diseases – such as Alzheimer’s mental disarray, cancers’  silent spreading and diabetes’ diabolical neuropathy. If our modern world simply understood what is life and consciousness, we would , I believe, not have such pestilences.

TOWARD A GLOBAL MIND CHANGE

We urgently need a root worldview change or global mind change. For me this refers to a shift to a life-centered vision of nature and away from the  mechanical-centered, math-based that spearheaded  the Industrial Revolution. This doesn’t mean we stop using machines, rather they must serve the more central needs of life.

As we change our very deepest core visions, everything else can and will change in tandem.

Otherwise the changes will  remain superficial and ineffective.

The power of deep-entrenched central beliefs allows them to become pivots for profound change.

Some 400 years ago we shifted our highest central beliefs about the nature. In the Middle Ages the Bible revealing a God-created and manifested universe. The modern world now sees a math-bound universe whose order is  revealed by numbers and equations. Looked at from an outside point of view, there are problems with the latter vision. Math symbols abstract how to separate all elements of consciousness. One cannot integrally connect a vision by systematically separating its elements. This contradiction permeates the whole math-tied view of nature.

The good news is that we can make another huge vision leap. The last such shift within was accompanied with a great deal of external political, cultural and economic violence. This time it may be accompanied by more environmental violence.

HIGHER LEVEL OF CONSCIOUSNESS

My vision  is that if we can and must shift to a higher level of consciousness, moving from a mechanical (Newtonian) to a life-centered vision of nature. This is also a consciousness-centered shift. How much of this is possible will depend on others taking on this banner. We certainly can shift to better ways to nurture, sustain and discover life in nature rather than best bringing out the machine-like, mechanical (Industrial Revolution).

I feel there is no more important inner task facing our modern world.

With mechanical things, motions have no inner life component to inspire them. With living organisms, motions are inner consciousness driven. In this light, and with nearly 1/4 of all earthly species headed soon towards extinction, we need a deep shift within to a higher level of consciousness – to redirect our lives and save our planet from its present path of potential self-destruction.

Toward A New Science Of Consciousness

In our ongoing series of posts on consciousness here we focus on the movement towards  a new science of consciousness. To envision that, we really need to carefully define our two key terms: science and consciousness.

Science
It is word derived from the Latin “scientia” meaning knowledge. Webster’s New Collegiate Dictionary refers more specifically to a “knowledge attained through study or practice… knowledge covering general truths of the operation of general laws, esp. as obtained and tested through scientific method [and] concerned with the physical world.”

Forms Of Science
Here we refer to both a) the strict discipline that uses “the scientific method” for observing and experimenting rather than just vaguely believing in something about our world, and b) the body of knowledge that results from applying this method. There is also pure science looking for facts and applied science seeking applications of those facts tied together to form theories.

Consciousness
All words are pointing tools used to separate elements of our consciousness, and consciousness itself might point to the whole unseparated whole. Webster, not surprisingly, gives several definitions for consciousness. These include a reference to any quality or state of being aware, whether of what’s within or outside; and whether of sensation, thought, emotion or again the whole of all conscious states – and whether we are awake, aware, present, oriented or in dream and altered states. Lastly, and alternatively, it refers to “the upper level of mental life of which the person is aware as contrasted with unconscious processes.”  The etymology of the term conscious comes from an ancient Latin word conscius which means “to know.”

Thus the terms scientia (knowledge) and conscius (to know) thus beg for a marriage.

Contrast To Create Identity
Because “consciousness” partly refers to just about everything we ever have or could experience, or the medium thereof. It thus seems to be something very non-distinct. We, nevertheless, can give it a distinct identity via the quite stark contrast to “unconsciousness.” This is similar to defining a level of darkness by the level of the absence of light.

Close Association With Human Consciousness
Also we cannot experience consciousness in other life form. Thus we can only infer something like that exists (as by observing how animals act the way we do) . Otherwise the term “consciousness” is tied to just human awareness – and especially within our brain, including the higher order self-aware ways the brain might function.

Toward A Trans-Personal Definition Of Consciousness
Let us consider, in this context, the following alternative definition. It sees consciousness in an broader context than even the whole of what we humanly experience. Namely it postures consciousness to have some trans-personal and trans-human qualities as belonging or proprietary to all of nature. This is awfully hard, if impossible to prove with finality since we cannot really ever go outside of our own consciousness. We cannot do that trick anymore than we can jump over our own knees. Thus perhaps this is merely a pure inference. It is derived, however, of a kind of detached observation and therefore can form a quite sane theory. It is a theory of consciousness which can further be put to practice and even tested. This is why there is such a true need for a science of consciousness, namely and again to test such theories or to tell us which might be valid or not.

OUR DEFINITION
The definition here states that: consciousness forms the potentially universal relationship of connection in nature It thereby can form nature’s core essence  or what holds all of nature together as one to derivatively define its essential essence. This is like chocolate making up the essence of a chocolate bar.

Implications Of This Definition/Theory For A Science of Consciousness
The above definition and theory has some profound implications. If valid, if begs for a really new science of consciousness – and for that matter, a new science of nature as such. It focuses away from the presence of the western way of envisioning all of the essence of nature – as with the periodic table of elements or with the view of matter or energy defined mathematically predominating. The latter points primarily to a physical, machine-like world and wherein consciousness seems dispensable. It might either be of secondary, derivative, emerging,  irrelevant, or shadowy value. In more extreme views, consciousness is appears unreal, a phantom or the ghost in the machine.

Why Propose A Non-Mechanical Science of Nature?
How do we focus away from this western vision with our new definition in hand? There are two main ways. First, we don’t start with the intellectual bias of assuming that math symbols will exclusively lay open the bosom of nature. For the distinct identity of those symbols – those pointing and consciousness biasing tools -  is that they abstract  how best to separate all elements of consciousness, and b) the physical world is exactly what those symbols best point to or bias our attention towards. They cause us to prefer giving attention to what is most clearly separate in our awareness and also thus having separating surfaces in our vision. This is definitely the physical or material world or what is composed of “matter.” The assumption is that this scientific view is not a metaphysics or ideology of nature. But let us counter-culturally consider that  it is!

A Different Root Vision
Rather than starting then with this math-bound apriori metaphysics – an ideology that preferentially points towards certain directions – let us instead look more at the experience of both what is distinctly connective and separative consciousness – and in a pre-physical pure and raw experience of consciousness. Why chose this first duality? One side, the connective, points to the underlying oneness of nature, and the other as systematically away. Thus the origin of this duality is directly from nature’s oneness – as a true duality should and must be. This is why we don’t use words or pointing tools like yin yang, or matter, energy – each derived from a different cultural perspective.

Right/Left Brain Split
This alternative duality is easily correlated to the differences between our two main brain hemispheres, something well documented in empirical psychology.  The thesis here is that neurons do not produce this split in brain consciousness, or consciousness as such, but rather just tune in like a radio to the more primordial, connected, ocean of consciousness that precedes the separative-seen or surface-perceived physical world of our senses.

Conclusion
If taken seriously, the above view creates a deep and profound revolution in our whole knowing and understanding of nature as such or essentially. This is why a scientific study of consciousness can be so pivotal and important for different fields. This especially applies to the healing arts that treat consciousness ailments. Integral healing is usually a connection to wholeness, and if we do not understand the very root foundations of connection in nature, we will also not know how to truly, integrally and deeply heal ourselves and our loved ones. We can only treat them symptomatically because the understanding is surface-bound. Secondly, if science is exclusively associated with the quantitative study of what is but physical and material, and if at the very same time our new alternative definition of consciousness holds true, then any mechanical or traditional science of consciousness will predictably  fail.  It will fall flat on its face because it takes a very different, non-mechanical, non-mathematical, and non-consciousness-separative approach. This whole notion aims to overturn, to revolutionize, to form a global mind change in relation to the vision promoted by Galileo, Descartes, and Newton and which really established the inner foundation for our modern industrial/commercial civilization

Toward A Global Paradigm Shift

CONTINUATION
This is a continuation of a post I made last year. Part I explains how difficult it is to make a global paradigm shift – a transformation of our core view of reality. It is more difficult than say pruning the branch of a tree (thinking here of a “branch” as a metaphor for an idea coming out of core worldview or the “trunk” ). Thomas Kuhn in his famous Structure of Scientific Revolutions did describe some paradigm shifts that we might consider branch ideas coming out, again,  the core math-based cosmic vision. This is what dominates physics and chemistry through and through. From that core presepctive, we get electro-magetic theories about nature, we get quantum mechanics, and so on. Here we do something  radical different. We cahnge the core, trunk, root and overall seed-sprouting idea!  We move onto a different tree. We change what I call a “central paradigm” – the center of a worldview upon which the whole hinges – and we opt for a  whole different worldview.

Now this second part begins with how I came to consider such a larger shift in my own thinking and inner vision.

PERSONAL EXPERIENCE
When I was 17 years old, my left-brain shut down after having a high fever. I became temporarily aphasic. This means I was unable to talk in whole sentences. Here was a linguist and mathematician who suddenly couldn’t do either.For more information on this, the reader can visit my more complete bio.

WHAT IS INVOLVED WITH A LEFT-BRAIN SHUT DOWN
A left-brain damaged person stops being able to sharply “separate elements of consciousness.” Now let me give the reader several arenas in which this manifests to make clearer what the phrase “separate elements of consciousness” points to. This applies especially how we orient our consciousness in spatial vision as well as the use of words. In psychological realms, it involves the development of an ego, a sense of separation and identity. The latter is a little more involves, so let me just outline the basics.

SPATIAL VISION
A left-brain damaged person may be able to draw a square as a whole connected figure like a square. This means four lines meet to form a whole square.  This is because the right brain can direct the connection of elements of consciousness and the left brain their separation. Thus black lines against a white background tend to be drawn not sharply if the left-brain is damaged. The lines may be oddly jagged or strangely crooked looking, as if drawn by someone with a shacking hand.  They are definitely not straight as an arrow, nor sharply defined or finely linear. Metaphorically, we might compare this to a dirt road with many potholes vs a straight and smooth asphalted road. Now the figure of a square is drawn as a whole figure, the four lines connect even if roughly drawn.  You can see an example of this in the book called The Right Mind by Robert Ornstein. One whose left-brain is damaged essentially loses his or her overall “cutting sharpness” of mind. A right-brain damaged person, by contrast, does the exact opposite. Again Ornstein gives pictorial examples of 4 sharply straight lines that are drawn without connecting to form a whole square. Fascinating!

VERBAL FUNCTIONS
A left-brain damaged person can become aphasic as I personally experienced. He or she will have trouble thinking, writing and speaking precisely – or with general and ordinary verbal skills. Why do verbal functions also shut down along with the ability to draw straight-as-an-arrow lines? How is this related? What role do words play in this context?

WRITTEN WORDS
Written words appear most often as black marks against white backgrounds or oppositely white on black on a chalk board.  Opposites like black and white are the extreme farthest separations of elements of consciousness in a spectrum. Opposites like black and white may be employed to make the “”sharpest distinctions” or again separations of consciousness. Anything dramatically different in our consciousness can be called separative, and in our context black and white are symbolic thereof.  The left-brain quintessentially functions in this separative modality and thus it has an affinity also to the geometry of straight lines drawn as black marks against a white background. It is really simple. The left brain consciousness, again, not only tends to live amid sharply distinguishing elements of consciousness of all kinds  – especially black marks against white backgrounds – but it also best recognizes the tiniest of separate details. Again Ornstein demonstrates this by testing his patients. A right-brain damaged persons can look at a given picture and describe in the picture the tiniest of little details but unable thereby to recognize what the whole picture is all about. The same happens to Alzheimer’s patients who can describe details of a face without recognizing the whole face, and  even of a life-long loved one.  Overall the left-brain’s consciousness gravitates to the process of  “focusing” – the tunnel vision separating of details, again  black to white contrasted marks – and not just for drawing of lines and individual  alphabetic letters. A word-filled text has separate letters to form separate words which form separate sentences, paragraphs, pages, chapters, and ultimately books. The right brain gravitates to a different way of taking in consciousness. It is a connected ocean that cannot easily be described with words.

WRITTEN WORDS WITH VOWELS
In ancient times the Greek alphabet had no vowels. In order to understand the written word, it was necessary to know the overall context. This reminds me of how the word “man” might be a noun in one context and a verb in another, as to “man a boat.” The dualities of meaning are common in ancient languages like Chinese. Once vowels, however, were added, each written word had a more specific, detailed and exacting meaning – something that thrills the left brain or makes it feel at home. Within a hundred and fifty years after adding vowels to the language, reading culturally shifted from right-to-left to left-to-right -  or from the manner in which Hebrew is read to how English is read. This change in eye movements reflected something profound, namely a brain polarity shift. Soon afterwards the Golden Age of Greece was born, including key left-brain dominant foundation ideas for our modern western world.

THOUGHT PROCESSES WITH WORDS
Words essentially start as “outline images” in our minds.  An tree is out there in the experience of our senses but the concept of a “tree” not the same as the actual tree we experience. It is only anoutline image that can help us point to many such trees. A metaphor for this is a cartoon caricature. Cartoons are drawn using outline images. Outlines involve lines. Lines are made, again, by physically drawing black against white. Before that they are consciousness separations in visual images.  These distinct caricature images have a phenomenally important use.  The concept “tree” or the concept “chair”  helps us to point or focus onto something. To focus is to separate. You get the point, and a “point” is the foundation of geometry because it is the universal symbol of spatial separation. In this terrain, what we are separating is ever and always an element of consciousness. Since left-brain awareness has a main functioning that is separative, the ability to create and use words is distinctive there of – and made more precise via exact linguistic definitions. Such skills disappear when the left-brain shuts down as I personally and painfully learned!

THE ULTIMATE KICKER & ILLUSION
When the left-brain shuts down, what one gains is a more dominant right-brain point of view. This is connective. Consciousness appears as one ocean and not as separate drops of water. The extreme opposite view is epitomized by the atomic. If the foundation building blocks of geometry are points, and for mathematics numbers, then the physical world should be similar. Thus everything is thought as being made out of something most separately distinct. In this case we are referring to the atomic view, born in ancient Greek times.

Now imagine that the latter resulting view, the math-bound and atomic, while most powerful in helping us design machines made of separate parts, is from a deeper (right-brain dominant) viewpoint “surface/separative, ultimately false and illusionary.” Illusion occurs via a breakdown of the integrity of consciousness, or when a surface appearance is  simpy mistaken for something about the depths. To make such countercultural statements and about our most revered use of mathematics in physics and chemistry begs further analysis.

MATH SYMBOLS
Math symbols are the highest or penultimate symbols for all of left-brain dominant consciousness. Saying it this way implies that our vision is eschewed and brain-side biased, rather than objective as assumed. Learning the use of math represents also the greatest of left-brain skills – why we admire the mind of an Einstein. They are really the highest, meaning the most universal or abstract symbols for the separation of all elements of consciousness and to the sharpest of distinctions. Thus something might be 2 feet long or 2.1111546 feet long, offering a finer distinction. From a right-brain point of view, however, math symbols still and even more so create and deepen what is an essentially illusionary view. I know the foregoing is for most a hugely stunning and revolutionary statement. It is virtually impossible to believe this could be true in the context of our modern culture. It would threaten the foundation of our vision of nature. Nevertheless, I know with inner certainty that this math-based vision of nature that rose to prominence in the 17th century and has remained dominant until our times,  is undeniably surface-true but depth-false to its core. This is the root reason why I believe our world is also in such trouble or why we are surrounded by a globally-polluting mess that penetrates our own being with illnesses like cancer.

Can we make a shift from what is presently a most deeply-ingrained math-based vision of nature?

This will be discussed in the next segment.

This is the third and last part of an introduction to a “global mind change” or global paradigm shift.  Part I dealt with how difficult it is to make such a shift. Part II details how this involves quintessentially a movement away from the 17th-century’s math-based vision of nature. This third segment takes us to a next step.

TRANSCENDENCE
A transcending overview here is right-brain dominant. What does that mean? Our right brain taps into what I call “connective consciousness” the way a radio might tune into a certain channel that specializes in this or that music. What is tuned into prefers to look  at connected wholes rather than separate parts. Transcendence itself is a right-brain process because it moves above (as if to a mountain peak) to look past the smaller separate views .  Then we can see consciousness again as whole. This is akin to the ocean reconnecting its waters’ separate drops or separate feeding from different rivers.

IMPLICATIONS FOR USING MATH SYMBOLS TO CONSTRUCT A WORLDVIEW
In our modern civilization we use math symbols to connect a vision of nature with. However, these symbols really abstract  how to separate all elements of consciousness. This makes the aim an impossible task.

THE MATH-ORGANIZED VIEW AS ILLUSIONARY AND MISGUIDING
As stunning as it may sound, a purely separative or math-based understanding  of all of nature, and especially nature’s depths,  is actually a vast misstep. It is both non-objective because it has a cultural agenda. It is a quite unwise way of seeing for fathoming the depths of nature.  Or it falsely constructs a global view that is actually more akin to what is surface.  Because it’s so extremely separative and surface, it is actually creates the most illusionary of all possible constructed worldviews. This seems impossible to digest because the math-based view is so unprecedentedly powerfully, and dramatically effective in designing technology. Drama, however, is exactly what creates illusions in our consciousness. Past the impressiveness of having machines and modern technology, what is the real deeper impact on the rest of our whole environment? It would take many, many pages to explain this in detail.

MONEY
It is important to note that  money, a form of everyday mathematization of consciousness, does powerfully corrupt awareness. We think we are immune from this corruption process when using this symbolism in a  laboratory to form “laws of nature.” We are not. When oversight is lacking, there is eventually a marriage between the mechanical sciences and corporate profit-drives to harm life on a global level.  Monsanto is the perfect example.

NON-JUDGMENTAL
The above is not meant to judge the essential math-bound view. It is rather to critique it as a specialized rather than the supposed way of seeing nature. It is a way well suited for designing machines. It not necessarily a best way with which to objectively interact with all of nature. Not be far. Not when it engenders the greatest of modern illusions.

BENEFITS
Machines help relieve us of mechanical chores. There have positive uses. Thus the Industrial Revolution appeared to initially be a progressive development,  as in helping the movement ot abolish slavery.

DEFICITS
Crises arose only centuries later, beginning mostly in the 20th century, when we applied this math-bound view far, far too deeply. This is because first consciousness, at the core of life, forms a universal relationship of connection in nature.  Life brings out consciousness, and consciousness brings out that life (like water brings out the same from a seed).  A universally-separative view, the mathematical, is then neither life or consciousness-centered or supportive. It eventually clashes when deeply applied because the essence of life lives deeply within.

BIGGEST DEFICIT – DEATH-DELIVERING
In other words, a falsely depth-applied mathematical view becomes predictably death-delivering and harmful on a global level.  It tends to harm life very profoundly. It will, if universally applied, undermine the overall sustainability of life on Earth – that is unless it is reigned in. We see this with chemical pollution and atomic weapons’ proliferation. This is why we so urgently need a fundamental different understanding of nature , ourselves and our cosmos. We can call this a global mind change or core paradigm shift.  Not since the 17th century has there been such a major inner shift – as from the medieval to the modern view. We now greatly need another, a similarly vast and post-modern mind shift

GLOBAL MIND CHANGE =  A HUGE BRAIN POLARITY SHIFT
Because the math-bound view is a penultimate left-brain dominant orientation, we must move away from this left-brain dominant to what is a final refuge – a highest right-brain, connective-consciousness view. Since our culture has been primarily left-brain dominant for millennia, or at least since ancient Greek times, the math-bound atomic view has deep roots. A change thereof will take time.  Threatening health pandemics and environmental challenges can acceleate this change. Thus we have an unprecedented opportunity to become next-step more enlightened, to shift away from the present global eco-destructiveness to what will deeper than ever in the past, support, maintain, nurture and promote  life on earth (rather than what is mechanical).

Toward A Global Paradigm Shift

WHAT IS A GLOBAL MIND CHANGE?
I became familiar with the term “global mind change” only after having read Willis Harman’s fabulous book by that name. His work very greatly impressed me. I even traveled to an IONS convention (he was head of IONS at the time) to meet with him and share ideas.

HISTORY OF GLOBAL MIND CHANGES
A global-in-scope mind change is very rare in the world’s cultural history. Back in the 17th century western civilization went through such a unique and rare event – a global inner transformation.  It shifted from the Bible-centered to the core math-centered vision of nature  for the understanding of all of our cosmos. This led to a vast reorganization of many if not most major branches  of human knowledge. This is also what is meant by a global-in-scope mind change that transforms our everyday lives deeply. The Renaissance shift led to a transition from the medieval to the modern industrial world. The understanding gathered through applications of math-based understandings in the fields of mechanics, allopathic medicine, chemistry and physics led the way. Math symbols are extremely abstract inner tools and so they were capable of  leading us into such a vast mind-transformation.

ANOTHER GLOBAL MIND CHANGE ON THE HORIZON?
As our modern world is increasingly challenged by crises such as global warming, global chemical pollution and world-wide health pandemics like cancer, solutions also need to be global in scope. I thus have a series of blog post scheduled that are entitled Global Paradigm Shift – Parts I, II, and III and which outline a little of how we can now globally shift again from the centrality of the mathematical orientation to a more deeply penetrating life and consciousness centered vision of nature. PROVOCATIVE TITLE
The above title of Toward A Non-Mechanical Science of Consciousness or even a Non-Science of Consciousness seemingly goes against the core thrust of ASSC and allied organizations. It definitely offers a revolutionary thesis that counters some central beliefs of our modern world.  No doubt we need a more advanced and non-mystical (not just vaguely and comfortably believed in) view about what consciousness is. It needs to have practical and effective applications that really work to enhance our consciousness. This study, however, has resisted those kinds of results and even with the best of conventional scientific thrusts to fathom exactly and precisely what the essence of consciousness is.

This paper examines  the reason why this innate resistance not only exists but has non-accidentally persisted.

AUTHOR’S  EXPERIENCE
In his earlier years, the author Nathan Batalion was a math prodigy who at the age of 17 had an high fever that caused his left-brain to shut down.  Subsequent decades of deep inner explorations, led him to develop a radically different view of not only the nature of consciousness but of our cosmos as such. He went past his mathematical training and astute knowledge of physics to see through the essential left-brain dominant perspective that supposedly math-bound formulations pointed us to nature’s true essence . He went past the 17th century catapulted ideology of Galileo and Newton or the vision of a solely math-defined/machine-principle-eliciting view of nature and our cosmos.

THUS GOING PAST CONVENTIONAL LABORATORY APPROACHES
The distinctive features of a modern laboratory include a converging of measuring tools in order to buttress, reinforce and ever expand this same 17th century ideology of nature. A common assumption of the phrase “toward a science of consciousness” is thus that we need to break down consciousness to conform and fit into this mold. Or we need some breakthrough conventional lab protocol to fathom exactly what consciousness is in a measured way. We may thus study consciousness in the same way we study a geological rock – using precise lab assays or a test tub chemical analysis.  We might then reduce the rock to a few chemical components, each delineated by an exact atomic structure. But can we really discover the nature of  consciousness by these means – breaking it up into such atomistic parts or something akin? We may employ the very sharpest tools of measurement and/or microscopy to explore this approach and still somehow it has resisted that exploration – and for extremely good reasons.

The resistance, of course, is not what we would expect being “scientists.” We would anticipate our efforts bearing fruit soon – as we use our most exacting and reliable tool for “objective perspectives” and to satisfy peer reviews. However, peer review and peer pressure can be closely related what then engenders still more deeply ingrained cultural bias.

RADICAL THESIS
Here a radical thesis is proposed that we need to escape most of the conventional paths for arriving at a trans-left/right brain dominant, truly impartial, culturally non-tainted, impersonal and/or objective view of what consciousness is.

THE MAIN MISSTEP
Back in the 17^th century western civilization experienced a hugely revolutionary and dramatic inner transformation. There was a shift from the dominance of the Bible-centered view of the world. This was symbolized by the steeples of churches that rose the highest or assumed cultural dominance. The biblical truths were the organizing core beliefs of the medieval vision. The biblical view was as deeply entrenched then as the math-centered vision that replaced that perspective is now. Civilization, guided by the likes of Galileo, Descartes, Newton aggressively sought to uncover nature-conquering truths that supposedly were more free of beliefs and blind metaphysics than the prior biblical.  All elements of consciousness could now be subdued, fully known and reunited into a new order – the purely math-led and defined. All else was less real or less reliable to lean upon. This lead to a reconstruction of most major fields of knowledge and the transition from medieval religious culture to our modern industrial/commercial world.

AUDACIOUS THESIS GLOBALLY APPLIED
No longer the word of the biblical God, now where math symbols pointed presumably gave us bedrock truths of  the “principia” or  laws of nature. This very audacious thesis, if right, could help us evolve to heights or if wrong  (because it is so universally and aggressively applied) could destroy us. This presumption, nevertheless, was promoted with an unbridled lack of doubt. It manifest in the global proliferation of the fruits of chemistry, physics, biotechnology, pharmaceutical medicine and the centuries-long experiences of our Industrial Revolution.

HEALTH “SIDE-EFFECTS”
Galileo, Descartes and Newton naively envisioned a kind of glorious future Utopia evolving out of their ideas, and which was to manifest later with the Industrial Revolution. However, they never vaguely imagined the same future to filled with chemical pollution, atomic weapons proliferation or health pandemics like cancer. It was far from their consciousness to suspect that their ideas might be implicated in such threatening developments. They rather and again, with little self-scrutiny, foresaw blinding progress to be led by the discovery of nature’s “truly objective” laws. Nevertheless we now experience certain “side-effects.” They can be named “side-effects” to make them appear less significant. On the issue of health “side-effects,” we must face the fact that the collective health of our planet’s human population is not improving at present. A generation ago in the US, for example, 2% of children were known to suffered from chronic diseases. Now it is closer to 8%, the figure having quadrupled in just one generation. Cancer, diabetes and Alzheimer’s disease are especially pandemic and they are what I call “consciousness diseases.” For example, cancer spreads unnoticed within. Diabetes manifests with neuropathy or lack of feeling, especially of the extremities. A diabetes patient may step on a nail and not feel the penetration. Alzheimer’s disease obviously involves another kind of extreme loss of consciousness. If consciousness diseases are actually growing in our modern world, it becomes obvious that culturally we do not fathom deeply, we have not conquered the knowing of this phenomenon – not via our most conventional, trusted understandings.

ENVIRONMENTAL “SIDE-EFFECTS”
From an ecological point of view, we also find ourselves approaching a kind of precipice. Our global collective path is not just energy-wise non-sustainable, it also threatens the extinction of life and therefore the extinguishing of consciousness. Some estimate that in the next 10o years 1/2 of all life forms on earth, plant and animal, will be threatened with extincting. This implies that present trends will continue. The recent wholesale death of bee colonies portends this.  Avatar was a film with a script that captured a little of this gist. The integrity of the whole web of life and consciousness on Earth is being threatened on multiple fronts. Something is obviously very wrong which implies our modern knowledge of nature is faulty.

CONCLUSION
This paper assembles potent and piercing ways to challenged, transcend, and replace our conventional, taproot and mechanical understanding of nature. This means we also deeply reorient our understanding of waht is the nature and organization of consciousness within us and in our great universe. Here we thus challenge the depth-validity, integrity and true wisdom of the core of core philosophies of our times, the mathematical, and that just 400 years ago began guiding the formation of our uniquely modern world. So to move toward a genuinely objective science of consciousness we need a different approach.

Activism
Being mostly a “global mind changer” – changing our world from within –  I am not so much a consumer activist except when things highly offensive are  right in my face. Such is indeed the case with Monsanto’s Roundup herbicide facing me on the shelves of Home Depot.

This prompted me to call and email them information on the Roundup court decision from France that pointed out this herbicide is acutely dangerous to the environment. They wrote back that they are offering an alternative for next year, but they are not pulling this product off the shelf because it is one of their biggest sellers. Thereafter I persisted and they sent me a letter from The Scotts Company, LLC Consumer Director trying to convince me its ok. I am following up with about 50 pages for a fax that outline the dangers of Roundup, and derivatively genetic modified foods. I hope OCA (Organic Consumers Association and others will join me in this effort.

More on this as this progresses.

INTRODUCING A

 GLOBAL MIND CHANGE

I used to host a global mind change discussion group for a New York City Noetic Science group, so this is a topic I love to write about. It was inspired by a book by Willis Harman entitled Global Mind Change. It has two alternative subtitles. The Promise of the Twenty-First Century and The New Age Revolution in the Way We Think. Both subtitles are appropriate but I have a vision a bit different about Global Mind Change than the late Willis Harman’s.  I once confronted him with it, and he didn’t quite catch on. Maybe if I had more private time with him as it was just a passing meeting. Global Mind Change involves some changes in the universal ways we view all of experience, all of life, all of nature and all of our consciousness thereof.

CAN WE MOVE TO A LIFE-CENTERED VISION OF NATURE?

The core of my view is a shift from the mechanical to a life-centered view of nature. Can we make this shift happen. I would say yes, but it will take time, patience and deep understanding.  We have to overcome the molding of the past. It took at least 400 years to systematically create a cultural view that supposedly our exploration of math symbols and where they point unveils  the core laws of  nature.  If we now attempt a global mind change, we can move away from this 17th century view and toward what I see as  a more depth-true or integral life-centered vision. This transition is not minor and may need centuries to unfold. Only great sufferings migh speed up the process.

OVERCOMING SURFACE ILLUSIONS

If I have an apple in my hand and I take a knife to slice it in half, what then becomes visible? Obviously two flat surfaces coming out of the interior of the apple. Which surfaces are revealed depends on the angle of the cut. That angle also depends on me making the choice where to cut. All of this is simple to understand as a metaphor for explaining why a view of nature as surface, superficial, self-created.

PAST LEFT-BRAIN DOMINANCE & THE MATH-BASED VISION OF NATURE

Let us look more carefully at what I call “left-brain dominance.” The left-brain separates, the right connects. In the inner world of consciousness we separate something apart by focusing on it. This “cuts” (like a knife cuts an apple) the experience of reality apart and in the process creates the same kind of momentary surface appearance.  It may take awhile to observe this subtle kind of “cutting apart” of consciousness because it is not something hard, solid or physical to track. It is the cutting apart and creation of surface appearances (illusions or maya) within our consciousness.  Nothing is actually more illusionary than the core math-based vision of nature because mathematics expresses the highest abstractions for how to separate all elements of consciousness – something that can never arrive at an objective (non-subjectively cut apart) view!

I know this is a stunning statement but it is actually true.  This is why our modern world is so deeply in trouble. Thus to make a global mind change we have to challenge some highly deep (actually foundation) beliefs that we”ve been told are unchallengeable – again the core math-grounded view of physics and chemistry being supposedly objective.
